Speaking to a few after the game who dismissed Fulham as being 'on the beach' and I'm not having it.

Yes, the game wasn't important for them but just check the extended highlights to see how incisive they were on a break. We were excellent yesterday and shut them down at every turn, pressed without getting sucked up the pitch and in the key battle; Egan bullied Mitrovic. The tactics and the execution was spot on and huge praise to the players, Hecky, Jack & Mac for delivering that gameplan.

Any of the mitigating for Fulham has got the same feel as the 2018/2019 season where all those teams had off-days.

Not sure I buy it either. Wes saved a big chance in the first half where they should have scored.

Also, even at 4-0 they forced Wes into a few more decent saves in the second half.

They might have been hungover or one eye on their holidays but you can only beat whats in front of you and we did that convincingly. It was my first game back yesterday after illness and treatment and what a game to pick. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd thank the players and staff for that if I could. Really good to be back ❤️

Our performance, which was brilliant, was the main reason we won. But you could tell at certain times though they didn't have that same desire to win the game, but why would they?

Totally agree. Sander Berge stood out for me again. When he's on it he's just brilliant to watch. But that goes for a few of them yesterday. Wes once again showed he is very underrated (thought the players showed how much he is rated by voting him PPOTY).

We shut Fulham down very well. They still had a strong team out.

On the beach? Not really.

They packed in at 4-0 which is fair enough. The real problem was Ream, Tete and Hector are/were abysmal

I don't buy the 'on the beach' stuff, but I would say their fight and desire to get back into the game was probably affected. There were no hand-outs from us yesterday and they never looked like pegging us back.

In the 8 games we've played against the top 8, since Becky took over we've won 18 points. We aren't bad against the top sides.

Absolutely.

Anyone who plays open against us can get torn apart by the excellence of Norwood, Ndiaye, MGW & Berge (and that's discounting the injured Bogle, Brewster & Sharp).

I think it was a factor, but not from the start.

I think after the second goal went in their heads dropped and they didn't show much desire to get back into it.
But they were the better team up to the first goal and I thought we were in for a long afternoon.
We did a job on them.

Their squad have to make Fulham see they are ready for the PL, so anyone not up for it will be back to the square 1of the pub leagues. Having said that Ndiaye, Egan, JLT, MGW, Berge, Wes have done their value a power of good.

They certainly fell over at the slightest knock like premier league players.

Up to our 3rd goal it was totally down to our dominance. After that they probably had given up.

In terms of promoted Championship sides I’ve seen, Fulham are middle of the deck. I’d worry they are a bit powderpuff, certainly not one of the best Championship sides ever.
This.
I watched the game on ESPN and the English commentator was really bigging them up as the greatest champions ever.
I disagreed with that, but TBF, his match commentary was very neutral, giving praise where it’s due.
My thoughts vented on their captain Ream. Very disinterested and no leadership qualities at all.

It's just sour grapes.

Fans of teams who can't accept that we are good enough on our day to hand the Champions a lesson.

You don't get to be Champions by switching it on and off when you feel like it.

You're not telling me Mitrovic got to 43 goals and didn't want to score against a team he'd failed to earlier in the season. You're not telling me Fulham fancied being doubled for only the second time, on the last day of the season or wanted to register the first double shut out against them.

We were excellent because we were at it from the beginning and when we're at it from the beginning, very few can live with us.

We've still the vast majority of the same players who finished 9th best two seasons ago and were about 5th or 6th best before the pesky lockdown kicked in.

Most of the fans of those teams commenting have either never been to those heights of late or couldn't even dream of it.

Because of such a poor start we won't enter the play offs as favorites at all but in terms of top flight knowhow, we've miles more than Huddersfield, Forest and Luton when it comes to managing the big occasions. It doesn't guarantee anything but this experience and being on the back of three high pressure wins at least puts us in a good spot entering the knockout phase.

I think the ESPN commentator described Fulham as being ‘head and shoulders above every other team in the League’.
Not true really when they’ve lost both home and away to United.
The Blades never get any credit for playing well, it’s always the other team having a bad day.

I thought they started the better side, movement and speed had us on the ropes, I feared they would turn us over. Bang bang, two goals and their heads went. They'd better get used to that after watching how the likes of Man City and Liverpool rip teams apart.

They had a little spell in the 2nd half where they looked quite dangerous. Can't take anything away from the Blades, every man won his individual battle and played as a team

Spot on. Those 2 early goals where at the perfect time, Fulham surrended fortunately. First 10/15 minutes I thought the same as you, long afternoon coming.

Didn't ESPN take the EFL international feed - in which case the commentator was Paul Walker.

It looked to me as they didn’t fancy it after going 1 down after a keeper error and then a couple of tackles went in to unsettle them,we moved 10 yards further up the pitch after the 1st and they could not cope with a the swarm and the crowd noise,Hector and Ream were a bomb scare and didn’t like players running at them time after time. On the beach? Credit the management and the players sometimes.

10 defeats, 43 conceded. Yes scored 106 but sorry not the best team that has ever won Championship.
Their defence will cost them next season unless they bring in some better defenders. And Mitrovic will probably disappear again. Like Solanke, the step up to the PL is too much for them.
