Can't complain coming away from Hudds with a point and a clean sheet. Although we weren't our best and rode some fortunate refereeing decisions ... and the team is still a tad unbalanced ... I think the result is justified. AT least we came away with something and not empty handed and to me, a draw is a game in hand unwasted. The Blades go marching on ...

A new midfield to try out (one hopes it gives Hourihane and Norwood some leg rest) and Berge making a start alongside Fleck and MGW. Would it work? Did it work? Well, in short, no it didn't. Four of the five behind them were 'regulars' in that slot with Furious retaining his last-match position in LWB. We hoped it was temporary and I still hope it is. George, for all his energy and endeavour offs nowt out wide left and is reliant on cutting onto his right, utilising Fleck and Berge as support players and JLT was noteable by his reluctance to play flying centreback. It all looked unfluid down the left. Even BIlly had to go out there a couple of times to help out. Up front we have McBurnie who huffed and puffed with Billy completing another ninety. How much has he in the tank for Tuesday, we ask?

The game was a typical matched pair of sides slapping each other's faces. Yes, Hudds had a clear goal disallowed, there was a penalty shout or two and we hit the post and had a scramble with there were plenty of forays into each other's final thirds but the end result was still lacking. The team today looked slightly flustered at times as Hudds tried to go at us. The back three however showed pleasing levels of confidence and competence although the opposition chose to play a front three which did them all the favours. First half I felt we had a decent 20 minute spell where we knocked and knocked on their door but couldn't feed Billy or McBurnie a decent opportunity and the second half, despite a promising start has us floundering a little trying to find an effective way through a somewhat well drilled Hudds midfield. If either side had won 1-0 there could have been no complaints really, it was that tight. Overall though the improvement in output continues and coming away with a point is testimony to Hecky's steadying hand on the tiller.

Foderingham 7/10: Pulled off a couple of decent stops and positionally was where we wanted him to be
Baldock 6.5/10: Out of position again but full of energy. Lucky not to give a penalty away. If he had a left foot, maybe today could have ended differently.
Robinson 7.5/10: Loses his C3PO title now. Is now playing with some admirable confidence considering the fucking pie-drop start to the season he had. Still not JOC, but moving there
Egan 7/10: Marshalled the defence well and moved forward at times to intercept and harry
Basham 7/10: Still Mr Dependable and involved in many moves up the right flank
Bogle 7/10: More retracted in his advances than of late, but still a threat at times
Fleck 5.5/10: Busy day with not much outcome. He does look underconfident and exposed at times still. Decent strike on goal but in truth, hit harder and that goes in
Berge 5/10: Not still impressed with Berge. Although he saw a lot of the ball today and was involved in a lot of passing moves and even had a crack on goal. But his 'sum total' isn't impressive our convincing. And no, he isn't 'still coming back from injury'. He should be fully fit now and switched on. Today he still looked laconic and preoccupied.
MGW 4/10: Poor game for him. Out of position in RM he was clumsy and error prone and not on his usual game
McBurnie 4/10: Didn't think he had much effect to be honest. Was expecting a complete forward's output but he's back to shithousing, appealing to the ref and not being in the zone when needed
Sharp 6/10: Great effort from him with nothing but a few scrambles and a shot into the side netting. But to me Hudds were more concerned with denying him alone the opportunity to score than they were worried about anyone else. Which says a lot.

Norwood 7.5/10: Now he has (largely - save for his first one which was fucking woeful) stopped Hollywooding we can see a better side of Norwood's game. When he came on and went to CDM allowing Berge to go right in place of MGW we looked a bit better equipped to advance. A decent game for him
NDaiye n/a: Wasn't on long enough to see much of him

Would have liked to have seen Jebbo at some time

Onwards unbeaten to the Hull at home game where (on anyone's sheet of paper) we should win comfortably

Oh, and Sky Sports editor: if the ball is in play, we don't want lingering shots of individuals in the crowd or on the bench or overlong replays, you fucking CUNTS. Show us the fucking game

Yep, very fair mate. A wee bit harsh I'd say on Berge and McBurnie, but I'd seem to be in the minority on that on here today! Very balanced about the result though aye, I think people are underestimating what an important point it could be.

Was an enjoyable game.

I said at half time that I would swap MGW and Berge for Norwood and N'Diaye as we were clearly second best in the first half.

It came a bit later but we dominated the last 20 minutes and all the Town fans I spoke to thought it was a fair result at the end, as did I.

First! ...time ever that I've agreed with every word of your My Take pommpey .

Yet another clean sheet- it's getting reminiscent of 2019 when it was our outstanding defensive record that got us promoted.

McBurnie hate again.
Billy Sharp one turn and shot into the side netting 6/10
McBurnie 3 headers 2 on target one turn and shot kicked of the line 4/10 🤣
The problem today was midfield not up front all three terrible in the 1st half better when Norwood came on Berge needs to play more advanced. Still we didn't lose and still have games in hand while giving some players rest and others minutes on the pitch after injury. Both teams could claim they should have won a draw seems about fair, we go again Tuesday night.

As always not far off
Please don’t play Boldock in that position rotate him with Bogle
Fodringham looks better with every game
MGW looked way of the pace back too early
A lot slagging Fleck off thought he had a decent game

a draw is a game in hand unwasted
especially in a 6 pointer away. I thought we were lucky to get the point. MF is a huge problem especially when the press is on. I have to agree about Furious, easy to defend when you know he is almost always going to cut inside because he has no left foot ( he did manage one cross with it tbf). McB offered very little as per usual. He literally needs to pull his socks up ( symptomatic of the way he plays ), stop diving (he isn't convincing) and hold onto the ball instead of giving it away. Biggest waste of money for a long time, Berge saw a lot of the ball but did very little with it, MGW back too early - touch was awful. Robinson's best match for us this season for me.

I’m baffled how you can give Fleck a higher rating than Berge ?

Berge didn’t lose the ball once and linked play up very well unlike Norwood who gave the ball away with his first “Hollywood pass “ which led to the penalty appeal I think , he is far more style over substance Norwood

I’m also unsure how Mcburnie gets 4 and sharp 6 I’d say they both warranted a 6 they both were feeding on scraps
WES- 7/10 - I was wrong on him he has been very solid and looks more solid each week

BOGLE- 5/10 - No intensity at all

EGAN/BASH- 7 Very solid

JR - 5/10 he gave away a penalty just the ref didn’t give it blokes a liability get Davies back

BALDOCK- 8/10 even on the left he is more intense and creates thing even when he is handicapped as he can only come infield every time

Jimmy Fleck 4/10 - Hourihane should play ahead of fleck now Fleck isn’t good enough anymore unfrotunatakey

Berge 8/10 - As a CDM he was outstanding must have had 100% pass completion and backed up attacks well people expect him to score over head kicks and if he doesn’t kick off that’s not his job especially where he played today anyway should be first name on the team sheet for me 🤷‍♂️

MGW - 5/10 - MGW has it all but he acts like Ronaldo too much for me he has to do a flick every time he gets the ball , I think today shows he is a better 10 than RCM

BILL/MCBURNIE - 6.5/10 They both caused problems however were feeding on scraps , I’m not sure how people can slag Mcburnie but praise Sharp on that performance both very similar today

Norwood- 6/10 Played well but nearly cost us a goal because he has to play his Hollywood passes when they aren’t needed 🤷‍♂️

Both teams could claim they should have won a draw seems about fair, we go again Tuesday night.
Where’s the McB hate?

I interpret the review as saying he didn’t get the service, rather than anything else.

Really good post - enjoyed it

George , who we all love , was at best a 5.5 imo- he was the Robinson accident waiting to happen . Really poor going fwd , defending - his approach was heart in mouth stuff and could have cost us dearly. He channeled his energy in the wrong areas i think.

Rest of marks i agree .

We looked tired today , sluggish and bereft of pace and purpose but Hecky is going through the list to find the golden blends, which is understandable and sensible .

What to do about Sander?

We all wish he would perform like Declan Rice but he has no authority - i dont know what to make of him - im pissed off when he's out of theta and worried when he's in it .

Fleck - bless him - has gone well over his peak and shouldn't be anywhere near the fist team - so sad.

Hecky will get it right i think (with fingers crossed behind back ) and we were lucky today . Sort out the best team - and play them .

Gotta say I saw things a lot different Pommps. First half for me was a complete no show from us, and if the ref hadn't fucked up and disallowed their goal, I'm not sure on that showing we'd have had enough about us to have got back in it.

I thought Bogle did next to nothing, and his tracking back and defending were non existent. Bash first half underhit nearly every pass, he's Bash though so redeemed himself second half and was a lot better. Robinson did the basics, not to be confused with him suddenly becoming a player, and as well as he played today, you just know C3PO will show his ugly mug again soon.

Berge looked languid, played a lot of safe passes but he showed up for 90 minutes and was one of the better players I thought. Fleck deserves an extra point for that shot, the ball across you is hard to hit, and it was bobbling so for me that was an excellent strike.

Thought Billy did nowt, McBurnie was up and down but somebody needs to have a word about the falling down, acting the tough guy and let him know that he's employed as a footballer, so play fucking football!!!

Gorgeous George, playing out of position, was one of the best players on the pitch for me. He defended well enough, he got forward plenty of times and more than once, when the full back expected him to go left, cutting back in created a bit of space. The goal against West Brom, and his flick to Billy being a classic example.

A disappointing performance truth be told, we didn't play with energy and as I said, I'm not sure what would have happened had the goal stood just before half time.

You're not the only one, just the most noticeable (and wishing to be possibly)...but an assessment of how someone's played doesn't have to be based on if you like them or not

To be fair it’s not just Sky, it happens across all the channels. I can’t understand how any professional sports editor thinks it’s acceptable to show anything other than what’s happening on the pitch when the ball is live. It doesn’t seem to happen in other sports so why in football? 🤯

Isn't it totally fascinating how we see things differently

long may it continue

Hudds played one of the best games of the season according to forums. Goals change games, and when it never came a draw is probable what we wanted. They're goallie had a lot more to put up with.

Not Gibbs White's day today, but good to get him some minutes and rotate the squad.
I'd give Berge a 6/6.5.. got better as the game went on.

I'll take the point, not much between the sides today, but we weren't at our best today, and according to comments on Roy's view from, a few saying it was the best they've been for a while.

I read a lot on here and rarely post, but it's always the same scapegoats in these ratings. Fleck was abysmal today yet gets a higher rating than berge?. Sharp looked absolutely nackered and did nothing of note, but Mcburnie gets slated 🤣.

baldock was a disaster waiting to happen and nearly did on numerous occasions
