Not a rumour particularly but Ian Holloway is keen to let him out on loan. I think the Prem came a bit too quick for him last season and he hasn't really featured for them this season after missing the 1st few games on U-21 duty.

Given that Flynn seems to be struggling to get going, a speedy winger who can also get the odd goal is definitely one of the missing links.

Saw him play at the stadium of light last xmas and he was by far the outstanding player on the pitch ,Campbell got the goals and looked good but Phillips was unplayable.

'At times, he is unmarkable,' said the Blackpool manager.

I wonder why they are letting us have him.

Perhaps it's a case of 'At other times, he is unremarkable.'

A step in the right direction if true.

Positionally yes, but still a loan at the end of the day and once again, we're going to be scratching around in January with the probablity of players leaving as well.

It's apparently been on RS according to someone on BM.

Still very raw and inexperienced and from what I've seen of him, seems similar to Jonathan Forte, very quick but doesn't always look like he's in full control of the ball. My Blackpool mates say he can be fantastic but doesn't beat a man as much as he should and, despite his height, is easily knocked off the ball. In this division, the fact he's running at players would scare a lot of defences sh*tless.

Speed boat no driver?

I'd be happy with him over Flyn and our current 'wingers', hope we get him

From Blackpool STer...

He can be, bit hit and miss really. Missed preseason and hasn't really had a look in. Bloody quick, reckon he'll do a job.

They printed that in the paper? Bloody hell. Obviously standards are a bit lower in Blackpool.

Slightly mis-leading, by 'missed pre-season' he was actually on International duty.

A few more rumours flying round these parts, Billy Clarke also coming with Phillips, Squinny going the other way in January. Two Pool players turned down loan moves to Div 1 clubs last week, sounds like Clarke may be one of them, Basham another. Not known who they turned down or whether we were involved.

Haven't we got a pretty decent history of debutants on derby days?

Quid on him.

For anyone who is interested, as some on here assume every poster on BM talks bollox, bladesmadeditor popped down to watch training this morning and said both Phillips and Billy Clarke were training with us. Obviously, he can't confirm whether they have/are signing/signed, but they were both at Shirecliffe this morning.

Could it be a similar concept to the McDonald signing where it's confirmed midweek but in order to keep it away from the opponents, it's not announced until the teamsheets are handed in?

bladesmadeditor might have blown that idea though. Still, it won't change Megson's HAVE IT approach.

Its more to do with having him/them available at the back end of the deal in 3 months time.

1/4/01 Darren Bullock W2-1
18/2/06 Neil Collins W2-1
19/1/08 Lee Martin L0-2
19/1/08 Anthony Stokes L0-1
7/2/09 Arturo Lupoli L1-2
18/9/09 Andy Davies W3-2

Yes, I think it's to do with the 93 day rule according to someone who apparantly text/emailed footy heaven yesterday. They should sign on Friday, meaning we get the most out of the them over the 93 day period (words to that effect)

Whats going on? why am I getting bombarded with texts saying weve signed phillips and billy clarke but theres nothing official anywhere?

Billy Clarke, a striker who has played 120 games in 6 years, scoring 22 goals.

Oh, I believe it alright.

Darren Bullock played a blinder that day! Had Carlton Palmer is his back pocket.
