He was class.

have to admit when I saw the line up and worked out in my mind he was probably playing on the left wing I thought oh my god for fuck sake.

proven wrong.

as impressive as MGW and IND were - Ben Osborn deserves just as much credit.

hea actually been one of our better players since he signed in a dodgy period for us. Technically a decent pro and always gives everything.

I like him and his energy levels are an asset (I'm not keen on him at left back though!). He just needs to have more consistency which hopefully a run in the side will give him. A top end championship standard player on his day. Probably PL is a standard too far for him, but let's worry about that if/when we get back there.

MGW, ndiaye and sharp all been receiving deserved plaudits but thought Osborn was outstanding as well today, ran all game, created chances and got 2 goals!
My man of the match just with Sharp a close second. That said I think the performances of Sharp and Osborn don’t happen without N’Diaye and Gibbs-White giving the whole team a lift. All 4 were superb.

With Slav not managing to sign wingers he wanted it seems Osborn was asked to play that role on the left and get about a bit as well. Very good performance from the lad.

In games to date he had shown great energy and a willingness to get involved but this today was his best performance for us so far. Keep it up lad.

Delighted he grabbed a couple because he was tremendous all day. Looked a danger going forward, linked well with Norrington-Davies and covered a lot of gaps in midfield when they broke. A very useful player as long as we compensate for his known limitations.

Definitely not Premier League quality but definitely has something to offer at this level if he has good players around him, well done to him!

I think Osborn has been quick to realise with the addition MGW and Ndiaye. The quality required to get into this team has now gone up a few notches...Fair play to the lad.

I have to agree with everyone on this, he was my MOM, before the game I wasn't impressed with the line up but fuck me, if Osborne had been brought in last week and had made his debut today he would be getting the same plaudits as the other two, can't drop him for Tuesday

I have been a big supporter of Osborn. Always puts in a shift and is decent in whatever position he plays.

Superb today, and thrived with having better creative players around him.

I opened this thread and was disappointed that it wasn't about a sex tape involving Osborn and Mrs. Beckham!

The trouble with Osborn is consistency.
He will have 1 excellent game like yesterday then have a complete shocker the next game.

Can’t argue that he always puts a shift in but that’s the first time over 90 minutes I’ve really seen a footballer not a headless chicken who couldn’t pass a fart without it being wet
He was excellent today at football without the ball and pleasingly at football with the ball

He was brilliant today long may that continue, but nothing negative here as we have players that can come in and play there if needed. For now enjoy the moment, well played lad UTB

He didn’t run the game but he played really well

I really like Ben Osborn. Seems a good professional, a top lad and when he's on the pitch he puts in 100%.

His quality on the ball can be found wanting sometimes, which is frustrating because it shouldn't. He's got a decent left foot on him and is capable of good deliveries and shots. I just think he sometimes snatches at things and makes poor decisions.
With confidence, he can excel. I really hope yesterday acts a springboard for him. He has Hourihane breathing down his neck so he needs to keep it up.

Ben Osborn is a busy player, always has been - and after yesterdays performance he was excellent in a team that wants to move/pass/move/pass quickly.

Perhaps he is suited to a Slav type of game.

What was noticeable yesterday, we stopped playing meaningless passes between ourselves (and slowly) with all the opposition behind the ball. Peterborough sat in but we simply played through them and around them with players comfortable enough to receive a pass, take some touches and then move it on - Osborn included.

Players like Osborn/Norwood/Fleck can all stay in the team for me as long as we play to the Slav style, with means moving the ball and themselves quickly about the pitch for most of the game. That takes fitness and I'd never knock Osborn for effort or commitment.

First class performance...............he's just got to keep it up which also applies to all of them.

The next issue is injuries - a fast game like Slav wants - and i'll presume we play on or about that speed in training may mean more strains to bodies - but for now we should all be pleased with his new way of playing.

UTB
