I’ve got a long history of getting annoyed with what Jim says on Twitter. The only issues which might be solved in house is the need for one of the winger/number 10 options which maybe ndiaye could do if there’s a contract sorted for him and centreback cover. We don’t have a midfield destroyer at the club

That’s hilarious, up there with MP claims of thousands of new nurses and hospitals…when the reality is they’re counting nurses already there and new hospital buildings at current hospitals!!

I agree completely but the ground work is being laid for using the under 23’s as a stick to beat the manager with.

Yep. Old Jimmy just softening the edges for when Bettis comes out and says we've been slowly introducing 4 or 5 players from the U23s into the first team. We are sure they will add what's needed to the group.

Think it will be a longer term thing than that I think there will be a lot of talk of how we tried hard and it’s a difficult market to work in in the immediate aftermath. Long term I think there will be little jabs cropping up through various social media channels especially if the manager reiterates his desire for signings and his unhappiness at the business done.

With all due respect to Jim, he's is no longer associated with the club in any way, shape or form so take any mumblings from him about current business with a lorry load of salt.

If we had kept Ramsdale and Vieira was fit I think adding Davies, RND, Ndiaye and Freeman to compete as starters and maybe using a couple of the u23s as reserves would have left us in OK (not fantastic) shape. On that basis, the bare minimum I think we need is a reliable keeper and a midfield enforcer.

Just match days off? They’ve done fuck all for well over 12 months now. Best job in the world indeed.

It's getting very very tight. Currently there is no Ramsdale replacement, nobody able to naturally play wide, no midfield enforcer and, other than Freeman, no creativity or scoring threat in midfield. Those would be the obvious priorities but cover for Egan (would the club seriously rely on a 19 year old with 2 performances to him name??) and a striker (other than Sharp) that could score should also be addressed (but I don't think they will be!)

Unfortunately, I think most of us (even those of us that try to put positive slants on things) can guess the likely outcome by the deadline.
