nearly as unbelievable as wilder playing lundstram game after game![]()
Sorry mate disagree.....keep him get promoted build the midfield with the parachute money...Once promoted an England keeper and a Premier league keeper would be worth a huge amount more...It makes more sense to keep him at present....As for searching for a keeper well we know how difficult it was don't we ....It was only Ramsdale wanting to come back home to the Lane otherwise we would have still been searching for a quality keeperHave to disagree on this one. If (and its a huge if) sell sell AR for big bucks (north of £35m), we can get an extremely good keeper for £15m and build our piss poor midfield as thats where the real issue is.
The point being his transfer nous had totally deserted him.Presumably Wilder felt Verrips was forced on him and brought in Foderingham to make a point.
Surely Wilder wouldnt be so stupid ?Presumably Wilder felt Verrips was forced on him and brought in Foderingham to make a point.
Could understand that if Foderingham was any good, but he's not even a league 1goaly.Presumably Wilder felt Verrips was forced on him and brought in Foderingham to make a point.
yeah spot on most of last season it was craig wilder in charge not chris wilder just seemed like a different person but the 2 main forms of stubborness from him was not even attempting a change of formation and continually playing that total waste of space lundstram 99% of blades fans could see he didnt give a shit so why didnt wilder bafflingIt has to be said that there were some seriously strange decisions made by our football management team last season. Some of them absolutely baffling.
I was a strong supporter of CW since the day he was appointed as manager but I have to admit I was getting serious doubts about him towards the back end of last year. The sentiment of 'in Wilder we trust' was wearing very thin as I thought he was starting to lose the plot. I wanted him to stay on for this season but I certainly wasn't as upset as some were with the departure of Wilder. I think in the end he couldn't see the woods for the trees.
The clubs may have had ‘talks’ but I doubt very much if Ramsdale was involved personally in those discussions.
It’s either a sensible and serious offer, and wait to see what the lad thinks about it, or an immediate rejection by United.
With no immediate rejection by the club, sounds like it’s up to Ramsdale when he gets back from the euros?![]()
Doubt Slav would have come if they told him there's got to be a firesale. All this speculation about the sale of players is beginning to concern me now. 25-35 mill for Rammers; 25-35 mill for Berge; 10 mill for Bogle and that's not including talk in the past on the value of Egan and Baldock. Yes, we could bring in over 100mill in sales and let Slav spend 20% of that on decent replacements which COULD still get us promoted, but what then? We would become the typical yoyo club.
For crying out loud, let's keep these players, get us promoted in style and build on establishing ourselves in the Prem and kick on from there. I'd like to support a club continuously attaining top 10 in the Prem and even fighting to get into Europe in the odd season with some cup silverware to boot.
Just hope Slav is of the same opinion and can sit down with these players this week and convince them that their future is here at the Lane.
I thought we had a 40m shortfall? If we sold him for 35m, we'd be looking for another 5m, nevermind new signingsHave to disagree on this one. I'd keep him. But 30m+ is serious money. Good to see some reports referring to him as 40m player. Can't hurt.
I totally agree tj. My moan was really aimed at some of our fanbase, rather than the club, who say they'd accept this amount or that amount for said players. It's a good position to be in for once with equity in the club due to players current value, but we really do need to hang onto them for longterm success.Doubt Slav would have come if they told him there's got to be a firesale.
Where's the parashute payment gone then?I thought we had a 40m shortfall? If we sold him for 35m, we'd be looking for another 5m, nevermind new signings

My understanding is that it’s not a shortfall in terms of a blackhole in the finances that needs to be plugged ASAP but rather a 40 million point reduction in revenue from last year. Whilst that’s a serious drop we won’t need to recoup the whole figure through sales as our championship outgoings are highly unlikely to amount at 100% of our premier league income.Where's the parashute payment gone then?
Where's the parashute payment gone then?
So basically were skint again? This has been repeated endlessly but the average net sales for any relegated club from the top flight is £40 million. It's normal. The club lost roughly that amount due to COVID in the last year and a bit.
Every fucking club actually, and be a bit more polite pleasesigh
EVERY FUICKING CLUB SELLS
Agree, and I get that balancing the books as to be done. But I find it amazing that some fans seem to know all about our finances. As for selling 2or3 I will be surprised if anybody's interested in any of them after last season's shit show.all teams that are relegated from the premier league sell 2 or 3 of their top players and i doubt we will be any different im afraid but im hoping we now have a board who wont accept the first bids that come in unlike nearly all of our previous boardrooms
Wilder was such baby at times, looking back. Sulked and threw a paddy a bit more than you’d expect.
Thank you for confirming the content of my post. Why would a player be personally involved in transfer discussions with potential suitors before their club accepts an offer for them? Of course agents will be sounded out on behalf of their client, but any approach made to the actual player would be very much against the rules and would be classed as 'tapping-up'.
