Think he’s OK but not great, individually he seems solid but I think there’s more of a gap between him and Egan to be exploited than before. I think we need someone to at least share the burden at LCB.

If he is to play, my one hope is he’d play more at home. The pitch at home has been narrowed as far as we’re allowed - it’d at least make his long throw more effective!

I would be tempted to put Stevens in at LCB as I don't think Robinson offers owt going forward. Assuming Ampadu doesn't play there. I can understand being defensive at Arsenal but Fulham is already a six pointer

I'll have Robinson play out wide... the other side of the touch line next to the advertising boards. Just take the throw ins only!

Forget Overlapping centre backs.
That's a revolutionary tactic there ;)

Don’t rate Robinson at all. Notice CW mentioned that trying to add replacement for Jack

With Robinson in the side we offer no overlapping from the left side. Why’s that important? Because we play a flat midfield three & use wing backs to move forward alongside the cbs to offer attacking options up top. This didn’t happen today.

Other than Didzy and Burke we looked like we’d fielded 8 defenders and Rammers. The only time we looked remotely dangerous (keeping in mind Arsenal were 2 up and cruising) was when CWAK changed us to 4 3 3.

If we are going to continue to play the same system the opposition will match us up & play three up top - with two out wide to pin back our wing backs. That means we have to have creativity from someone in the midfield 3. That’s the issue.
Fleck and Norwood look out of sorts and no one in midfield is showing an ability to create something from nothing. Unlike last season we look slow to break and lack ideas.

McBurnie is an old fashioned style centre forward but every time a ball is crossed he’s linking up with wing backs in the corner and not in the 6 yard box.

Long way to go, but as a team defined by our solid defensive set up we haven’t kept one clean sheet and although our luck has been non existent we must look at ways to improve our system both defensively and attacking.
Ampadu (a full Welsh international) was our best player vs Leeds, drove forward with confidence a proper defensive ball player and was benched?
We ve signed two offensive wing backs who haven’t had a kick in the Prem. Enda seems to want Sunday league time on the ball before he crosses and has been average defensively. Lowe should be given a chance, if he’s insistent on keeping Enda in the team put him at LCB in place of Robinson (who is a back up player and will not be good enough week in week out)

I f**kin hate all this losing.... Rant over.

He did much better than I thought he would when he first came in for O'Connell but his performances fell off and never really recovered.

I don't think he's good enough. He has poor concentration and his positioning is suspect. He's also just a little bit too slow both on and off the ball/ Given our finances, he's decent cover, but nowhere near good enough to start.

I'm entirely puzzled why Stevens isn't playing there. Or Ampadu. I know he likes balance but is Ampadu just going to sit on the bench all season if Egan and Bash are fit?!!

Serious question. Have we ever won with him in the side?

Does anyone know what he has done to Wilder?

He’s not great, but he’s the only player in our squad that has any real experience playing LCB in the prem. He spent nearly all of lockdown playing there ffs

Jags starting today was ridiculous...as an overlapping LCB (or not so overlapping). Over the guy we signed 10 months ago to play backup LCB. Surely the stupid handball against Fulham isn’t the reason for his continued absence? I would argue that Egan has probably done worse in the past

Played well, great play for the goal. Think his long throw next season will be used a bit more when he starts. Bash, Egan, Jack o, has to be the starting back 3. I have a feeling Egan will be off. Solid center back, someone big will come in for him.
Hope not....

He was, like the rest of the side, at full tilt tonight which is what we’ve been missing all season. I’d be happy with him at LCB next season if O’Connell isn’t coming back any time soon.

Best performance he's put in for the club. Reminded of when he first came in. If he could play like that every week then we don't need a replacement for JoC

McBurnie, Bash,
Rammers and Robinson, all 4 could have been MOTM.

Took his chance with both hands and stepped up. Being an ex-Liverpool player and fan probably didn’t hurt his motivation factor either.

Bags of Championship experience, can cover a couple of positions, natural left footer. More than happy with him in the squad next year.
