Given the somewhat parlous state of both Sheffield clubs right now I trust we dont see a merger proposal in the background.

Could this be a moment when both clubs seriously consider it? Could hardly have a public discussion could they.

No

Well someone might say why is professional football in Sheffield consistently crap. I mean it is hardly Forest and County, City and Rovers or City and Park Avenue is it. It is bloody diabolical given the fan bases.

No, as I have stated elsewhere Sheffield had the chance to be a one club city with Sheffield FC.

I also don't think a merger would make the new club instantly amazing at football and have MASSIVE crowds.

A new club would have the same problems that two clubs has.

Sheffield, and Sheffield things just fail

The new club would fail even if both sides embraced it (which they wouldn't) because the same acceptance of third rate shit would still apply

It’s been a shitty old 2020 so 9 minutes into the New Year, this comes to mind & you post it? Just interested to know exactly what sort of responses you thought you might get?
The first answer you got from pommpey answers the question.

No.
Most people are desperate.to get things back to how they were. I want to get crammed back into the Lane and feel the noise and excitement again. I don't want it ripping up and some new souless , meaningless thing in its place.

Go away pig, 1 sheffield club may get relegated, but is not desperate and is stable, the other is in desperation making these stupid suggestions.

I would rather eat my own shit than share the kop with those hooved bastards from South Barnsley.

Hi tarqs here.

Fuckoff.

Instead I'd love it, love it if the Pigs were merged into the 10th tier of the pyramid after all of their shenanigans finally catch up with the bastards.

No the reason I posted it was simple.

If you owned a failing football club ie Sheffield 'massve' Wednesday and your associate across the globe owned Sheffield 'one hit wonders' United dont you think with millions tied up they might actually think about it. I mean we're going down quicker than a whore in Bangkok and that lot are err slowly drowning too, from a business point of you it has to be a consideration.

I am not advocating it, I am merely saying the time is now more likely than perhaps it has been for some time, that's all.

There is no way this will ever happen for the same reason it has never happened before...

We hate each other.

I’d rather we were relegated to the Conference North than be in the Premier League as a joint ‘Sheffield’ team.
