Yes, you are right that it will be worse for the clubs who pay the highest wages (also those who regularly have huge revenue on hospitality, expensive ticket prices etc) but I am concentrating on our own situation, we will be deeper in debt if we go down in 2022 (after this season becomes null and void) than if we go down in 2021 (if this season is played to the finish or more than 75% of the fixtures completed). Going down in 2023 or in 2024 might break even.

This season will only be cancelled if the PFA ask for it to be. The FA is apparently skint after the last postponement the EFL definitely can’t afford it nor most of their member clubs and even the prem would shy away from having to refund tv contracts.

If you genuinely want the best case football scenario for us it's the EFL is cancelled whilst The Premier League continues. That way there is no promotion from The Championship meaning no relegation from The Premier League but the TV money will remain in place as the season will be completed.

There's more chance of us staying up legitimately than it being cancelled though.

In 1962-63 some clubs, including Manchester City, didn't play for 10 weeks because of the weather. We only played 2 games ourselves in that time.

They still managed to finish the season though, in all divisions.

They should bring back the Pools Panel though. We might get more points that way.

The only way I could see them calling for it is if the instances of players suffering from long covid increase as this could be a career ender.
