Wilder just said..,

What did he say that wasn’t true ?, whilst it is getting a bit repetitive it isn’t wrong

It is wrong though
We weren't inferior last season so why should the same players, plus "improvements" be inferior this season.

We all know that generally we are inferior, but it doesn't need saying

It just gives our team a ready made excuse to perform like that last night

What have I said that is unfair or factually inaccurate though?

Wasn't aimed at you mate, hence the word forum and not actually quoting anything you posted. It was a generalisation at the 'Wilder Aaaht' and 'hes taken us as far as he can' nonsense that I am reading.

I'm not turning on CW at all. He has got us where we are at the moment and that should always be remembered. He has improved our entire club beyond belief in no time at all. He'll always be a legend in my eyes.

But the 'astonishing speed of turning' you allude to also applies to Chris himself and the mentality of the players, which has fallen off a cliff. Last year we feared no one. This season we shit our pants as soon as we play anyone that shows some talent and (in Chelsea's case, yesterday) a great work rate.

The games between now and Christmas are his biggest test. I also don't appreciate being told (indirectly) that I'm not actually seeing what I'm seeing, and that the players are just as strong as they were last season. They clearly aren't and the lads that have come in clearly aren't an improvement, either. I don't mind that, but just get back to telling us how it really is rather than making crap excuses and telling us how we can't now compete with teams we were beating last season.

Excellent response Fred old chap, appreciate your viewpoint and a valid one too. Nothing is black and white in this game, there are so many variables to contend with, I'm just aghast at the Wilder out nonsense so soon.

Guess I should be more ambivalent about the whole issue!

Are or will Swansea be that stupid after missing the bullet by getting rid of him in the first place?
Therefore, it's run down the contract, sell at a loss or pay off. Certainly needs to go.
Apart from Berge, can you realistically see anyone wanting any of our players should we get relegated?
Wilder really has made some poor and expensive mistakes with recent transfer dealings and Basham aside our base players, the ones who got us to the EPL, aren't looking very good either!

The speed at which this forum has turned on Wilder is astonishing!

The speed at which some posters who I've never seen before have turned on him is astonishing.. Hmmmm

Fair enough 👍

It seems like it’s two different changing rooms.

Wilder after a loss last season - “WTF was that lads? Work harder or FO out the side door. Fight hard for every ball, chase it down, pressure the opposition. We’ve fought to be here now prove them all wrong.”

Wilder after a loss this season - “Don’t worry lads, it’s Chelsea. We were expected to lose.”

I’m not backing the Wilder out campaign in any way, but if he has stopped believing in our ability then that will filter down to the team. He looks despondent at the moment.

Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all have a decent chance of winning the Champions League.
But losing 8 points from 9 to Villa, Leeds and Fulham doesn’t fit your argument, they won’t win owt let alone the PL

You can't just bollock players after every poor performance, he knows his players and I think he's right to take the softly softly approach at the moment in the press. I'd imagine that he's different in the team talks but it's no good coming across as aggressive in press conferences as the players would soon lose interest.

Neil (nothing for us here) Warnock comes to mind.

I'd like to think he is telling the media one thing to protect the players but saying another thing to the players themselves.

That is the only thing I am flinging my hat on at the moment.

Cringeworthy isn’t it? When the chips are down, you realise our fan base is just as wanky as the rest.
Yes the most vociferous set of fans when winning can usually turn out to be the most caustic and ultra critical when losing. That’s human beings for ya....

And Villa (who scraped in last season by the skin of their teeth) slapped 7 past Liverpool and just gone to the Emirates and done Arsenal 3-0. But yet we can't have the belief to go "toe-to-toe" with these teams? That's the most worrying thing for me in all of this - Wilder's "Warnock-esque" style interviews :(

He was the one who should have gone out from the club this summer not Robinson (who looked WBA's best player in the highlights) or Freeman who offers something but was so little used would probably have been desperate to leave.
Didn't want him for all that money for various reasons. 1. Clearly far far too much 2. When you pay that you know he's going to be playing 3. So many forwards signed it would keep Billy Sharp out. You know that bloke who scored the goals to get us promoted.
NEVER imagined in my wildest dreams he could be so fucking shite.
NEVER imagined in wildest dreams that Wilder could be so arrogant deluded or whatever that he could keep playing him every week when he is clearly this shite.
He does have a history of playing a lump up front though, for example signing Kitson for Oxford after leaving us! Despite saying all the time in the Premier League saying that pace up front is the key!
As for the signings. One has to seriously question who we are signing (I have from last season) who is the key man to them. Is it all Wilder, scout based or group/committee? (We haven't got a camel if it's a committee it's a fucking donkey!)
No one would pay much for him though so that's why we should have been looking to loan him to the Championship in the summer. (Barnsley the only club I can think of who may have been interested. Wednesday LOL!) Just as when we signed Ramsdale and clearly had a good relationship with Bournemouth we should have pushed for the one year loan of Brooks.
All in my tweets at the time.
Win Win Win situation. 1. Bournemouth - fee was half the £75 million rating before his bad injury. 2. Player obviously left us to play at top level so reverse identical. 3. We get the key player we need, provided anybody but the thick donkey plays up front with him.

Very true. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive though. That’s the real measure of “quality”.

What, specifically, do you find cringeworthy?
The we’re not worthy bits. I liked it when he came out with the viens in his neck bulging following a bad performance regardless of the result cause you knew he’d give em he’ll and put it right. Now it’s the what do you expect, we’re not as good as the other teams.

I don’t find it cringeworthy, but it’s a noteable shift. Possibly his confidence is lower, he is human after all. And perhaps he’s trying to take some pressure / expectation off the players?

He gets a microphone thrust under his nose in the heat of the moment.

He doesn’t get chance to think about it, and start threads on message boards. ;)

On Burke not being involved...

“It’s tactical. Oli Mac would have played today, unfortunate that he had tonsillitis and was kept away for four days.
There’s not much grass in behind when Chelsea go 2-1 up, they sit a little bit deeper and pace is not needed. Something else is needed and in my opinion Oli has done well against Liverpool and Man City.
The service the boys at the top are getting is not great.”

FFS Chris Burke versus a tiring 50yr old at centre half was a no brainer.

That is the point the tone has changed in his interviews and it is a concern.
