Is it time to change the manager?

So who 'factually' should we have as manager ?
No idea pal, I’m not a headhunter in a multi billion pound industry. All I’m saying is that when a guy is in over his head, it might be wise to put a stop to it for the same reasons I stare above (£150m) . And the reason I raised ‘facts’ was because I’m not one for following the rose coloured spectacles and accusing non believers of having an agenda.

Chris Wilder has earnt a full season with our unreserved backing.

We haven’t performed badly overall, and the squad and manager have been tested by a global fucking pandemic.

Cannot believe I’ve just had to read such crap.
Well, I suppose it’s global so everyone has been tested haven’t they? Listen, I’m not against the bloke, and he’s performed miracles but could it be that he’s not doing a bad job, but a poor job and had shocking luck? Throw in a poor squad and the global fucking pandemic and it’s a perfect storm.

So when does a lemming you become an 'ungrateful cretin'?
Lemming 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we’ve had the best 4 years in living memory under CWAK in my life time and reached the premier league on a spend of £6m. We shouldn’t even be here! We finish 9th last season because of COVID-19 instead of top 6, and 5 games into this season because we’ve only drawn against Fulham the cretins and undercover 🐷 are out in full force. Uneducated so called fans like you make me spew. Were you at Bury under Badkins? Were you at Yeovil? Were you f#ck, cos if you had of been, you wouldn’t be polluting this forum with your bile. To put things into perspective, in the same time, the pigs have blown £59m to finish below mid table in the 2nd division, and currently sit rock bottom on minus 12.

Can’t believe people are even saying this... surely the man has more than enough credit in the bank. people forget the Nigel Adkins season and the dross before that too readily.
He has taken us the PL , sure not many of us thought we would get back so fast and I think it is one of the factors why we are struggling now because we have not had chance to build in same way, had to adapt fast as we came through from league 1. Some players are struggling with form and yes we cannot match the wages of many other teams, never mind the transfer fees paid, and we are not a glamorous club or city.
Lets not also forget the talented young players we lost along the way due to 6 seasons in league 1, and championship. quite a few playing in premier league ( and England) now.
Even if we do go down I would stick with Chris Wilder unless he says he no longer has the appetite for it

In over his head? Finished 9th mate in his last completed season.

Must have been the players individual quality which got us there.

The questions got to be asked so I’ll grasp the nettle.

Backed by the board, no complaints there
£45 on 2 strikers
Squad lacks athleticism
Squad lacks creative / technical players
Refuses to explore foreign market
Still tries to polish turds
Seems to lack Plan B other than bring Billy on

We just struggled against one of the poorest teams to grace the PL for a while. New soft penalties and VAR saved us from defeat.

I can’t forget where we were and what he’s done for us but the question has to be asked. Do we support CW at all costs or Sheffield United’s future?

Cant see us buying a win anytime soon.

Fire away 🤬🤕

Positively the best attention seeking post of this terrible year

Worst suggestion of the season. And I include the suggested signings of Wilshere and Sturridge in that.

If both are fit, then I’d rather have Sturridge on our books than either Burke or Sharp, and I’d rather have Wilshere at the club than Rodwell and/or Osborn.

I do not shy away from the fact that the question has arisen in my thoughts, I’m not a blind faith type. I’m hoping (especially after last season) we are going to go onto better things than feeding off scraps. What’s more I think the new owner has shown the ambition and funding (lots of it) and wants us to reach our potential not accept little ol Sheffield United should accept relegation cause under Wilder we’ll bounce straight back.
I’ve not attempted to get clicks (couldn’t give a ****) it’s a genuine question, I’ve not hurled abuse back at abuse given it’s not my style and as Grey Blade points out I couldn’t give a jot about keyboard warriors although I’m a bit disappointed in some comments by some I consider to be my “virtual friends”. But that’s social media I suppose.
Gray Blade not Grey Blade.

This is surely a fucking joke post?!

Anyone seriously thinking this needs to fuck off, and when they’ve done that go fuck off some more!!!! Get out of this club and never darken the doors again.

He should have the job for as long as he wants it. Not a single manager in world football could have done what he’s done with us, and not one would fare any better with where we are now either.
Yes he’s been given money, but like it or not it’s all proportionate and it’s not enough to take us to the levels needed to maintain top 10 football!

Gareth Bale came on as sub today for spurs. He was shit. Miles off. And if we’d signed him he would have made no difference to us at all

Put it this way 9 games without a win pl or not how long would that continue

Even if we went down I’d want him in charge, or we’d end up in league one again.

People are misguided by our 9th place finish last season, yes we played well and yes it was a great achievement but don’t be fooled that we have a world beating squad and that’s the norm, we’ve been really fortunate with injuries over the last few years and a team thats put their all in, we need to be realistic and remember where these lads have come from, we need some patience and even if that means droppumg out of prem to have another go with this squad then so be it.

We need to be together united as we were before this friggin pandemic, fans players and club.

.....and before we seemingly expunge him from our collective memories, remember what Bassett did, where he found us, where he took us, how he did it and what he spent. CW’s not eclipsed him yet.
He surpassed him and shit on him, simply because Bassett got us up by playing football more akin to rugby in style, not innovative football. Not that I mean that as a sleight on Bassett because he was exactly what we needed at the time.

“He surpassed him and shit on him”. I’m sorry, but if you honestly believe that and aren’t either saying it for effect or are currently in drink, then you’ve got a red nose, big floppy shoes and the doors & panels of your car fall off when you stop. 🤡

Just flagging it up to remind the 4 or so posters on this thread who said that CW is the best manager we’ve had in 40 years, and is somehow beyond critique.

Is that ok?
Beyond criticism? ...that’s the understatement of the decade.

Problem is we can’t afford to wait the next 30 years for a new Basset or Wilder...that’s how long they come around for clubs like us.

People have very short memories...

It's not relevant to whether we sack CW or not. You didn't reference 4 posters or give it context, you said "our collective memories". And if we do want to make the comparrison, Bassett achieved what he achieved in an era when the gulf in finances between top and bottom of the division was far less and he did it playing football that, at times, could be pretty agricultural. And I say that as a fan of Bassett and what he did.
I don't believe Wilder is beyond questioning, but within reason. Talking of sacking him is beyond ridiculous. Talk of his being out of his depth is equally daft.

Despised and hated by the rest of the country for our rugby style football? Or revered by world class managers for our innovative football, and every neutrals 2nd team last season? There’s only one 🤡 in this debate, and it ain’t me.

As long as he wants the job. He got us here by a miracle and folk start talking like this!!
It’s unbelievable. The stupidity of it is simply staggering. We’ve gone all Huddersfield town....well move him on and watch us go the same way they did.

We could lose every game from now and I’d still have him in charge. World class players don’t become cloggers and pub players over night, and it’s the same with managers.
Grow a pair of balls and pipe the fuck down.

Trust me on this one, it is you. 👍

I wish Wilder would pack it in talking about the cost of other squads. He does it in nearly every interview and it always comes across badly. It makes us seem like we’ve won a competition FFS. It’s deployed like an immunity shield against any form of criticism, and makes cringe every time.

This feckin dyslexia will be the darth of mee
Bertie Mee?
Or renegade thee? 😅

😂😂 another donut

😂😂 another donut

Bassett got us out of the old 3rd division at first asking, got us out of the old 2nd division at first asking, both seasons giving 1st division teams a fright in the cup, then he kept us in the top division for 4 seasons, doing the double over Wednesday and getting us to a FA cup semi. 13th, 9th and 14th placings before relegation. All on an absolute shoestring of a budget, having the star player sold and at a time when Wednesday had been lording over us with a team full of internationals and CW’s shit on him already & surpassed him? Rightio.
