Is it time to change the manager?

Non so blind as those that won’t see. 8 PL losses on the trot, worst start to a season since 2003 apparently. How bad does it have to be for anyone to question if CW has what it takes to build a squad and keep us in the PL.

I think considering how far Chris Wilder has taken us in the last 4 years, he deserves more than 5 games into a season which immediately proceeds our best finish ever, to determine whether or not he "has what it takes" personally...

The questions got to be asked so I’ll grasp the nettle.

Backed by the board, no complaints there
£45 on 2 strikers
Squad lacks athleticism
Squad lacks creative / technical players
Refuses to explore foreign market
Still tries to polish turds
Seems to lack Plan B other than bring Billy on

We just struggled against one of the poorest teams to grace the PL for a while. New soft penalties and VAR saved us from defeat.

I can’t forget where we were and what he’s done for us but the question has to be asked. Do we support CW at all costs or Sheffield United’s future?

Cant see us buying a win anytime soon.

Fire away 🤬🤕
Based on our performances so far this season, it's more than reasonable to show concern and ask questions but suggesting sacking the manager? Seriously.

Losing JOC, Mousset, and Fleck injured/out of form is a big blow.

Robinson is an average Championship player IMHO. Ampadu has the potential to be a good player in the future but I dont see where he plays without injuries or suspensions.

Brewster hopefully gives us a bit extra and Mousse returning could make a difference.

The inability to score is our biggest concern and it needs to improve hugely if we're to stay up.

I think it's more than reasonable to debate selections and formations without being accused of being a bedwetter or having a meltdown like a few like to, but suggesting changing the manager is a whole different ball game.

We've been pants and it is difficult to see where wins are coming from currently but we're not even in the relegation zone and have the potential to pick up.

I would say the entitled, instant gratification generation who no very little about football will be throwing the toys out the pram now and as soon as they've done that and stopped soiling themselves they will be calling for Wilders head. The more rational and reasoned group of fans who understand that in life and football you have ups and downs will be dissapointed with today and the start to the season but will back the best manager whose played some of the best football we've seen for a long time.

What's your answer to the question 56?
I honestly don’t know. I’m just asking the obvious question, expected emotive responses. You all know me I’m not a WUM I’m a Blade and given the backing he’s had I’m lead to ask is it the manager. We can’t do what we usually do and blame the owners they’ve back him with money, facilities, players etc.

No of course not CW is our best chance of bouncing back at the first attempt if, as is looking likely, we go down.

More concerning would be if he wanted to leave as he didn’t fancy a rebuild in The Championship. A lot depends on Covid I think. Championship football in front of no fans would be a bleak prospect. He might want a complete break for six months or so.

Can't see why Blade56 gets abuse for this. Poor start to the season (and poor end to last season) and just failed to beat one of our fellow relegation rivals, seems a reasonable thing to debate. The vast majority are behind Chris (myself included). This site is for debate surely, not for abuse of a poster just because you disagree with what they write.

I understand the frustrations of the fans to be honest, coming off the back of last season I certainly expected more

But don't be stupid.

I do think however Wilder might need sitting down and being asked if he's thinking things through fully, it feels almost like we buy promising.players and never use them.

Now now, children. Let's play nicely. The last fucking thing we need at the moment is us lot turning on each other. I'm as frustrated as the next bloke but we can't afford to be falling out. We've seen where that kind of atmosphere can lead us to.

As for the OP Blade56 I think Wilder has done more than enough with us to deserve another crack at the whip if the unthinkable happens and we do go down. Make no mistake, we're a 12th man side through and through, and covid is absolutely fucking us. The second season was always going to be tough, but with fans not being there and without the resources to fund players who are good enough to play brilliantly regardless of how many fans are present, it looks a thoroughly steep task.

I can't name you a manager out there who is;
a) a realistic improvement on our Chris
b) someone who would make changes that would sort us right out and get us back to winning.

Kicking Chris out? It's a no from me. We'd regret that decision.

The questions not got to be asked, get a fkn grip.

Succeeds not proceeds.
You seemed to mean precedes not proceeds?

Then what, accept relegation again just as the parachute payments disappear? The question is regarding his ability for the PL. and yes bring on the abuse like that will help. The question is out there.

I have no issue whatsoever regarding what his abilities are in L1 and the Championship.

Blade56 taking one for the team & becoming the new forum scapegoat, god bless

But no, we must keep Wilder at all costs. I agree that someone needs to have a sit down and challenge him on things though

Pure Chabuddy style click bait.
But it worked as I’m responding, if only to say

Don’t be ridiculous.

C'mon at least give Brewster a game before slagging him off as a waste of money

Thank fuck the Internet didn't exist in 1990 after we'd just lost at home to Sunderland in November.
