It’s a technique Sky News use quite a lot.
Just before the break they’ll promise the latest BIG news regards a signing.

Then when the programme returns from the break they spend 5 to 10 minute talking about other news. Then when they do fulfil their promise regards the BIG news...it’s often just a repeat of previous reports....they build up the suspense....even though they know nothing has changed,
 
As much as I am gladdened that we look to be signing a striker with great potential. It really is a shame that we couldn't get someone in for the start of the season instead of what looks like being 4 games and 12 points gone.

I also wonder at what point we will all admit that Wilder HAS spent money and HAS been backed by the chairman and that if results don't go right now we can't point the finger at the board.

If we land this striker I expect the onus to be placed on CWAK for the rest of the season.

Prince is now in the box seat to pull the trigger and get another manager in with little or no kick back from any quarter. (I hope he doesn't choose to do so)

Yep it's unbearable. Can't believe I'm watching it with a beer.

Special occasion though, and Blades don't have a TV channel... YET.

Momentous signing, whatever the financials. I think this kid will be an England squad regular in his career.

Wilder is going nowhere for any reason, and we'll be having a good season anyway.
 
I'm not in any way a doomsayer and I believe we'll comfortably stay up, but I just had a truly depressing thought I believed I should share, if only to get the page count up a little higher...

Say the lad is announced today (as is looking likely).

Say crowds aren't allowed back into stadiums this season.

Don't worry about that. We should only be worried about if we'll be allowed in the stadium for our first Europa/Champions League game.

I know some of the tools on here! They need to get a grip on themselves. Don't judge a player on a crap game or couple of games. Wait until they have played 10 games. Don't judge a manager on a poor run of form/games. Give him at least half a season. Wilder/CWAK has built up enormous amounts of credit in the bank at this club over the course of the last 4 years. If the season has been ended at Covid they would have built him a statue and we would be in Europe on the lowest budget in the division!

It was aimed at those that state Wilder hasn’t had money to spend (he has)

I don’t want Wilder sacked (which I said in the post) - but the ball is firmly in his court now with the backing received since returning to the prem (remember it was not so long ago it was rumoured the prince wanted him out)

It is a shame (Fact) that we didn’t get a striker in before the season start.

I’m convinced file on here mix negativity and fact up!

Me! Said it wouldn't be a loan, the other clubs weren't really interested, no bids were in and it was being put out to pump up the price, we'll be the agents choice as it's the best move for the player, and that it would go to the end of the window because we weren't budging on our valuation but it'll be done.
I guessed absolutely everything, know no one at either club and have no contacts whatsoever outside what I read on here, but didn't flippity flop trying to cover all bases and effectively write us off, only to then try and claim he called it all along unlike big Al. Piece of piss this ITK lark.

Depending on the buy back level, this sounds like a masterclass from SB again, when plenty on here lost their nerve and wanted us to spend way over this on him.
I also said he isn't the player a lot on here are expecting him to be, and he won't be a huge game changer and worth the price until next season at the earliest.

I love being judged as negative whenever I’m stating facts - you don’t know me and you don’t know my outlook on life so don’t suggest I’m a tool.
