I’m taking comfort in that for 87 minutes we looked absolutely fine and showing signs of our old selves, merely lacking a bit of punch up top. One piece of terrible marking has done us and we’d looked fairly comfortable up to that point and created the better chances.

Wouldn’t put it past us to get something out of both Fulham & Arsenal.

Would like to see Ampadu sitting in midfield now Egan is back, allowing Berge to take that right hand side again. That said I thought Lundstram did well today.

you are only seeing what’s happening right now. There is a lot to take from that game. Even at this point in time, if you think you we are one of the worst 3 in the prem then I would strongly disagree.

Much improved all round performance but missed a sitter and poorly defended their goal.

We've got huge concerns, especially with the games to come.

Saying we'll be fine is as an empty a comment as saying we look like getting relegated.

Ampadu looked decent, Ramsdale played well, Berge looked like he's going to be too good for us in the next year or so, and I thought Robinson had his best game for us until the goal.

However, whilst we continue to give away soft goals every week and fail to score we're properly up against it. Anyone refusing to see that is just doing so for show.

It's not just luck that's against us , the Refs have it in for us and give so many marginal decisions against us , yet fail to give us decisions like the Ampadu penalty today.
It is so easy for them to influence games , look at the Egan red.
The lack of a crowd is making it easier for Refs to get away with crap decisions.
If you add that to our inability to score , I can't see where a win is coming.

I completely disagree with this. Look at the teams in this league, they’re all strengthening their starting 11. We’ve signed some great back up players and definitely have more strength in depth but our starting 11 is miles off it.

Relying on Robinson for 30+ games this season worries me, then his back up is Jagielka.

Sharp/ McGoldrick could leave tomorrow for me they’re not scoring at this level which is their job, not just to work hard.

We need a right hand side creative midfielder to play with Berge like Osborn has been doing on the left as Lunny is going, JOC replacement, but the main priority 2x strikers.

Not a long wrong with us. There is a very decent SUFC side just under the surface.

It's clear as the pretty little nose on my FA e though that we need more quality up top. We cannot keep missing chances and expecting to win games in the PL. Fine margins and if we have a bit more quality up top, we win that game by a couple.

Some observations.
1) McGoldrick should be squad player now and isn't going to score regularly. Has a part to play but it should be more of a bit part this season.

2) it wasn't bad marking as such for their goal. The problem was the amount of space we gave their winger to put in a terrific cross. It wasn't like we hadn't been warned, he looked a threat all afternoon.

3) Rammers is a decent keeper and will be great for us this season.

4) can we start to have a few shots on target rather than trying to walk it into the net each week, please.

Adding to that our style of play isn't new to the opposition, our build is slower than it was, we struggle to create chances and refuse to shoot unless we are 6 yards out. Other than that, everything looks fantastic.

Overall a good performance, & but for missing some good chances,, poor defending for the goal [1 centre forward against 3 centre backs] & some poor decisions from the Ref we might have got a result.

I would put Ampadu in for JC for Arsenal though

Gotta agree with this. Our season has barely got under way, we've had a dreadful start, but nothing that can't be fixed. The warning signs are there for us now. For now I have faith that the team and the club will acknowledge it, but it is down to them.

I don’t recall mentioning anything about previous games.
however, what I have said is that yes the current results aren’t great but they aren’t indicative of the actual current situation. You need to look at the bigger picture fella.

We have lost our last 6 premier league games and scored one goal. There is no margin if the team doesnt score any goals. Wilder knows there is a problem as he will know something needs to change quickly for us to have a chance of making progress this season.
