On the buyback rumour, it’s all the rage. Another from today (and actually highly unusual that Levy would agree to such a deal)

For me, while not ideal I do think for Brewster it would be a better deal than just a loan for us. Were he to be sold back say in two years, it’ll be because he’s been successful (and by extension we’ll have been too). If it’s 25 buy, 30 sell, we’ll have basically been paid to develop him (in contrast to the recent loans where we’ve paid to develop them).

The Maupay thread hit 273 pages last Summer before we finally saw the "Gone Elsewhere" badge appear.

That's a benchmark really. What this thread needed was a scouse Banana.

We've discussed the merits of residing in almost every major UK city, but there's mot been enough schism for my liking... anyone want to try to segway our link to Brewster into a Brexit discussion? Or the Government's handling of the pandemic maybe?

I specifically came to this forum recently to discuss Blades WITHOUT getting aggravated on Twitter by ridiculous opinions about the pandemic, and the government!

So I'm not taking that bait!

No but thanks for asking. Appreciate it.

I'd like more than £30m if we're paying £25m, there is still a risk Brewster could turn out to be the next Jordan Ibe. We should be rewarded with more than a £5m profit if he turns into a Liverpool first team class player.

Saw a journalist tweet the other day that a teammate of Brewster’s likened him to Jermain Defoe in terms of playing style. I’d have Defoe tbf.

"Scouse banana" ?
Is that a cocktail............,or a (weird?) sexual act

Talking of submitting a £25m bid for Rhian Brewster, wouldn't we be better off bidding for European players?
They're better value for money after all. But would they get a work permit now we've left the EU... what's everyone's thoughts on Brexit anyway. Good idea or a bad idea?

Also, £25m?! It's obscene the amount of money being spent on transfers, particularly given we're in the middle of a pandemic. Imagine how many tests could be procured for that money... the lack of available tests really has been a shit show from the Government. What's everyone else's views on Boris' handling of the pandemic?

Yes, but that has to be weighed up against the other scenarios. Liverpool’s counter there might for example be “ok then, £45m release – but you’ll have to pay £30m rather than £25m”.

If the alternative to agreeing to the ask is to not get the player in at all, and the only risk to us in agreeing is losing out on some profit, I think we agree to it. In a perfect world there would be no such clause. But if that’s what it takes to get a player otherwise unavailable to us, on a permanent deal, without breaking our other financial criteria, I’m ok with it.
