1. Sharp and McBurnie are still our best two strikers
2. Berger has stepped up another level - particular liked him playing the number 8 role
3. Norwood/Baldock/Fleck/Basham/J.Robinson/Osbourne look in great form
4. Jagielka is good cover but slowing a little
5. Callum Robinson - jury still out!
4. Lundstram will continue to be an important squad member
4. Mousse as frustrating as ever (he does add something different though)
5. Kean Bryan could be one for the future
6. We have some good youngsters coming through
7. If we ever go down with this squad we will walk the championship

The Championship is full of teams who were relegated and thought they’d then “walk the league” - it’s a tough division, always is, even with a good squad.

Otherwise wouldn’t argue too much with the rest ;)

Agree with all that TC. We also have a couple of unknowns.

1 We finished the season looking a tired side. Will the few weeks off have refreshed us?The fitness levels looked okay pre season.

2. Do we throw O’Connell and McGoldrick straight back in after no warm up games?
Heart says yes head says no.

3. Will Ramsdale keep developing into our undisputed number one? Is our back up good enough if he has a blip?

4. Lundstrum definitely has a goal or two in him. Will he settle his dispute and be an important member of the squad (hopefully) or hang about for 12 months like a bad apple (hope not).

Whatever questions or answers we have, it’s certainly been a strange pre season, hopefully one we never have to experience again.

The anticipation and excitement isn’t quite there for me because I know I won’t be stepping inside BDTBL a week on Monday but I’ll be kicking every ball with them.

COYRAWW’s, let’s make this season as memorable as the last few. Your 12th man will be back with you soon

Lundstrum.. FFS.
Honestly.

Honestly.
Honestly what? What are you asking me bud?

His stats back up that he is a goal threat from midfield and if he can sort out his dispute then he can become an important member of the squad, just as he was last season

I think I’d prefer not to have to test this out at all!

Mine:

1: Wes Foderingham scares the shit out of me.
2: McBurnie and Sharpe playing up top together makes it difficult to play sexy football.
3: If Sander Berge can play against premier league teams the same way he played against Dundee United reserves, then he will win the Baloon Door.
4: Phil Jagielka’s feet live in an alternative dimension where everything is quicksand... or maybe he’s just gotten quite slow.

I think we have learnt what we already knew about Billy and McBurnie, they are our most dependable to be fit and willing to go every week, I don’t think the pre season has really told us anything more than that, BTW not trying to sound negative ha ha

Berger has looked very positive

Think your spot on with 3 & 4, hope we don’t have to find out about 7 lol

What it tells us is we still can't create or take chances, we lack pace throughout the team and CW will bring in 5 players to put it right.🤞

We could do with a behind closed doors friendly this week.

Try and get some more minutes with more than about a 3rd of our starting 11 together and some of the new signings (hopefully).

the shortened offseason, self isolating players and the international break has made this a farce tbh.

This preseason seems so rushed.
Injuries, lack of signings, internationals missing, less break.

CW mentions something in this interview.

Sounded more like an in-club thing rather than another team?

Wes Foderingham scares the shit out of me.
Foderingham isn't as good as Moore.

Not seen all the pre-season televised games, but I didn't see Foderingham do too much wrong. Hendo might have been out to claim the cross that led to Preston's last minute goal, but I doubt if Moore would have come out. Foderingham got down well to hold a good shot yesterday, and closed down an angle to block another, and otherwise did what he had to do (not much). Though his distribution was OK but not as good as Hendo (which is not surprising). The jury's obviously still out on whether he's better than Moore, but he'd better be, otherwise he's a waste of money. Good that he got a run out pre-season. Not sure if Moore is injured but Verrips was on the bench yesterday. Verrips hasn't really been given a chance in the cup games (as Moore has) and I'm yet to see him play in the first team.

We definitely need one top, first class keeper and a very good one as backup. Trouble is, most very good keepers don't want to sit around as backup unless they are on Hendoesque wages.

Can't moan about only drawing against a strong Preston team when Leicester only drew 0-0 at the bottom of the championship club

I suspect this was an instinctive signing after Moore did/got whatever it was that knackered his hand. Wilder and crew are one step ahead, sometimes it's a waste sometimes it knocks the team short term but it's a safe option.

Reactions: Dkc
  • We'll find it difficult again in empty stadiums.
  • Moose won't be fit all season.

That's a big statement to make and obviously Wilder would disagree .
I refer you back to the point in time where Henderson was back in Manchester and Moore (i'm not sure about the timing of this) was injured, we needed somebody on board quickly.
edit: and Ramsdale hadn't been signed.

Agree. It’s as if something’s been happening in the world that’s affected football.....,

:)
Smart arse 😏

Just seems weird starting so soon when we havent even seen our regulars for a while let alone our new signings.
