Crikey - That is a lot of money for someone I’m not sure is a good/great PL keeper yet.

Hopefully, he proves me wrong and keeps improving, which he has done at every stage of his career so far tbf.

hopefully we Can just deduct the sell on fee from that!

The sell on clause is invalid as well apparently as he's coming back to the club which sold him.
£6 or £7 million too much in my opinion. Wilder must rate him though, so if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

Hopefully we’ll be getting a few million off the fee due to the sell on clause.

Seems a lot of money for a keeper with only one season in the Premier League. I also wasn’t that impressed with him to be honest.

I was favouring cakir but now this has happened I’m actually really relieved. We’re getting an English player who will fit (Back) into the group who knows the manager, club and league.

And with the sell on clause and academy product clause thrown in, it’s only about £12m including add ons. So it makes a lot of financial sense too and is a lower risk.

Let’s just get some wrist strengthening drills for him.

For me, while current Ramsdale feels like a downgrade on Henderson (I think most replacements mentioned would have been fwiw) he probably also fits the bill Wilder mentioned about signing players that we feel we can improve here. He’ll be confident that Darren Ward coaching him, and the environment, will help that.

Do you reckon that’s what it means? I haven’t had enough coffee today and couldn’t work it out one way or the other.

Hmm - My reading was ‘swallowed up’ meant that the 18.5m included what they would have had to pay us back.

though I’ve only had the one coffee today
