I think we can turn these over again, and i hope everything clicks like it did v Spurs, minus a couple of bits of dodgy defending.
Hopefully JOC is fit, even to just come off the bench for a short stint maybe?
Goal for Didzy???? Fingers crossed.

Cheers Roy.

Time to restart our good away form after the restart hic-up. Nobody's mentioned the 'Burgerfactor', expect him to kick on with his learning curve and given the responsibility he could be the difference in a very tight match. Going for a win, thanks for the reasonable and measured comments Burnley fans, respect.
Thank you Roy.

I think the last time we played Burnley ( at there place ) in the league
We got beaten 4-2 , I checked the team that day and shuddered some really poor players out that day for us , at least Ched scored ( for once in that league )
Jesus we’ve had some shite play for us

Yeah I don’t think it can be understated how much Berges mentality and confidence will have grown after the last 2 games! He’s starting to look really good now and that’s exciting for us fans.
And I also think Enda is coming good again. He had a very significant hand in Berges goal and obviously linked up with Osborn to set Moose up!
Norwood looked good. Egan was immense. Didzy looked class and McBurnie was the MOTM for me against Spurs.
Looking forward to the game. UTB

Thanks for the nod but would have looked infinitely better had I spelt Berger with an "e" and not a "u". Could it be I haven't eaten yet today? No, just bad spelling, soz Sander.

I see one of them is still clinging to the belief that they had a off day at the lane rather than we hammered them. Shows how much they know when quite a few think we don't have any selection problems. Mind you they have always talked shit in Burnley, BURNLEY ffs change a few letters and it says BARNSLEY I wonder if their sister is their cousin too.
Blackburn fans call them Dingles so it seems so!

I care not for such things... I’m sure everyone knew what you meant 👍

“But vying for a Europa League spot – do we really want to go down that road again? We have had enough trouble trying to put a squad together for League games.Leave that to the top 6.”

Okay then so you don’t want to be successful ever, you don’t want to ever win anything, you don’t want to club to evolve and progress, you just want to finish 12th every season and be happy with it. What a boring, dreary and pointless existence you must have you unambitious, futile little cretin.

Fair comments from them , agree it will be a tight game & they are in a lot better form than when we last met . I thought the Burnley & first 60 mins Man Utd at The Lane we’re our best we’ve played this term .
After Thurs result looking forward to the game just hope the short gap between these 2 games doesn’t leave us a bit short on gas . Think a single goal either way will decide it

Fairly well balanced comments on the whole. This will be a tight game, no doubt about it.

I still hate Burnley for Wade Elliott.

If they actually try and play I think we'll win. If they sit it'll be tougher as we'll need to be structured to unlock them.

Massive game this, if we can beat Burnley then I think average form for the remainder should see us get top 10. Important to put distance between us & them if we can.

In seasons gone by 50 points by itself has been enough for a top half finish. We will need probably need a few more than that this year but you'd back us to pick up the 2-3 points required from the remaining 5 game should we win today.

It'll be a tough ask though. They're a good side and capable of getting some great results. Wilder's response when questioned "has Dyche taken Burnley as far as he can?" was brilliant. He basically said "maybe it's Burnley that have taken Dyche as far as they can." Nail on the head. With their resources what more could he have given them?

Cheers Panchero!

'Forgot they played for us', former goalkeeping sensation Richard Wright played the first half conceding 3 goals before being substituted for Steve Simonsen. It was Wright's last game of 2 for United and his penultimate career game which tells it's own story.
Ched Evans scored a penalty.

Interesting some of their comments about European place (not really wanting it). I must say I feel the same. Looks like we will struggle to strengthen the squad with the impact of lock down and buying the properties on the budget and playing all the extra games in the Europa Cup would place quite a strain on us and likely bring some injuries to key players which we can ill afford. I think Champions League has now gone and I would rather miss out on the Europa and concentrate on consolidating in the PL and the domestic Cup competitions.

Soft lad

Micky Adam's first game?? New Years Day game. Mate ran on the cricket pitch before the game and slipped over.

The fact that come the end of the season clubs actually fight to avoid qualification tells its own story.

I’m in my early thirties and have supported United since I was 6.

I (and people much older than me) have never seen us be anywhere near qualifying for European football.

If we could claim a Europa League spot in our first season after promotion that would be an incredible achievement and I for one would absolutely love it if we did (Kevin Keegan moment)

I think we may just miss out given our tricky run in but we should 100% be aiming to get into Europe rather than avoiding it - it could be the only chance we have for a long time - dont forget we have NEVER qualified for Europe! Why anyone would actively want to avoid this is beyond me.

You can't use the Keeganism without it being loved.
I too would love it, love it, if we qualified for Europe it's just one less things for Wednesday to dangle over us (no matter how trivial).
We will need to strengthen though.

The irony of the Europa Cup is that the prize money for winning it is enough to buy one moderate Premier League player.

5 first team subs?! We only had 7 on the bench against spurs!

I like Dyche from his Chesterfield days, contrary to belief he could actually play football well for a centre half.

This will be a very tough game as they will be desperate to avenge the 3-0.

Dyche had a trial with us around 1994 or so. There's pics of him in the When Saturday Comes kit floating round.

A couple of places in the league could have more financial return than a group stage exit.

PL is king.

Remember the play off final vividly for the greatest collection of shitbags I have ever seen (and yes I’ve seen the Blades away hundreds of times). Burnley is and always will be a horrible little town full of backward, scruffy people and their club is third tier at best. I will accept that Dyche (and to be fair to them, a few managers before) has done a quality job and they play effective football. They are in the PL on merit and deserve all the plaudits they receive, but the town is a shithole, the fans are scrubbers and I hope we batter them. Will probably lose 1-0 to a header tho.

It wasnt a trial. He had been out injured for a while Chesterfield and as we played our home reserves matches at Saltergate at the time, they asked us if we could play him in our reserves match so he could regain match fitness. We agreed.
