A decent enough back up. He won't be a regular starter, he won't be on a big wage, but he will be useful to step in for injuries/suspensions, more so than a loanee because at least he will be training with the players he will be playing with every day. Not a signing on a par with Simmo, Britton or Nosworthy, but a useful one nonetheless.

Just how many more "decent back up" players do we need? Is next seasons wage bill going to be spent on players who won't be regular starters? So far that's all we've signed, decent back up, good cover, he might be able to do a job for us types of players. Britton - not hard seeing as we have Monty/Quinn and to be fair Willo when he's not crocked, which to be fair back isnt that often... Nosworthy - again, with only Morgan of any real substance at CB at the club, then he is going to be a good signing on the 'better than what we have' basis.

Also Stoke poster today reiterating Dickinson coming on loan but will sign late, possibly a couple of days before season starts. He 's not in the Stoke squad and nor is he for sale? He will be completing his pre-season with Stoke tho.

Simmo is better than Paddy IMO.

Britton is undoubtedly better than any of the midfielders we have.

And we know that Nos is a good defender that can play in a couple of positions.

Yes. Not because we've signed the best players in the world - it's blatantly obvious that we haven't - but because I actually look forward to match days. Not just the football, the whole shebang. I am able to find some enjoyment in being a Blade.

I don't sit at home wondering what I can moan about next, because I'm not a miserable cunt.

I don't expect us to sweep all before us, and I don't expect us to break the bank every season signing players. It would be nice, but I don't expect it in the same way I don't expect my boss to give me a wheelbarrow full of cash every week. Sure, it'd be lovely to sign exactly who we want and to be paid more than Tom Cruise, but I don't expect it like it's a divine right. I have a sense of realism, rather than my head up my arse.
