Wilder has said tonight in his post match interview that he “wants to go strong” on Saturday. Who should stay in from tonight’s lineup?

This is what I’d go with:

Henderson
K.Freeman, Basham, Jagielka, JOC, Osborn
Besic, Norwood, L.Freeman
Sharp, McGoldrick (if fit, C.Robinson if not)

Baldock was in the wars tonight, so probably could do with a break. Egan and Stevens I feel have had some tired looking games recently. Besic and Sharp should be fresh enough to stay in.

Keeps it strong enough while allowing some players that deserve some game time to get it.

I agree with that but I would like to play New Robinson and if L Freeman is off then I'd go with Rodwell or Ravel in midfield

I think L.Freeman is a definite. “Nobody’s going anywhere” remember?

I worry that if we make many more changes we’ll not be able to settle quite as well. If New Robinson comes in, might be better to keep Egan in then to try and retain that consistency to the team.

yeah i think probably quite close to the line up. mcburnie needs a rest i feel he was knackered final half hour. but we need to take the fa cup seriously. when are going to have a better opportunity where as great as 2014 was. we dont need bit of luck or favourable draws with 2 championship sides in 5th rd & QF to make semi finals. as we have the quality to take on most

100% just swap out JOC for new robinson (plays lcb) and i reckon LF plays. Ravel has had his chance now so he bench warms imo

We arent going to beat liverpool.
Its abfools errand.

Verrips

Rodwell Jags New Robbo
K Freeman -------------------------------------------------- Osborn
Norwood
Lundstram/ L. Freeman Fleck
Fresh Prince Robbo/ Ravel/
Billy

Verrips
Basham Jagielka Jobinson
K.Freeman Besic Norwood L.Freeman Osborn
Sharp McBurnie

Subs: Henderson, O'Connell, Rodwell, Ravel, Fleck, Robinson, Mousset

I also like the idea of not having wholesale changes.

Verrips
Basham Egan Robinson
Freeman Besic Osborn Stevens
Freeman
McBurnie Sharp

Subs: Henderson, Jagielka, Rodwell, Morrison, Robinson, McGoldrick, Mousset

1. Verrips to give him some game time.
2. Robinson as the only change in the back three to get some use to playing with the regular defence with Egan one side and Stevens the other and to rest O'Connell.
3. Freeman because Baldock took a bit of a knock and could do with a rest I reckon.
4. Osborn paired with Besic, to (i) give Norwood time off (ii) give Osborn game time whilst allowing Robinson to still play alongside Stevens (iii) allow us a combative midfield, (iv) rest Fleck and (v) allow Freeman to play in a 10 role and to give the old 3-4-1-2 from the Championship a run out.
5. Freeman behind Sharp and McBurnie, two excellent scorers in the Championship who both started the last game.

Verrips
Basham, Jags, Robinson
K Freeman Rodwell Osborne
Lundstum L Freeman
Didsy Mousset

I always thought defensive midfield was Rodwell's best position and gives Norwood a rest. Good opportunity to see Verrips and to get Didsy and Moose firing.

Assuming Moore and McGoldrick are still not available, I would go for the following 18:

Verrips (Henderson)
Baldock
Rodwell (Basham)
Jagielka
O’Connell (J.Robinson)
Stevens
L.freeman (Morrison)
Norwood (Lundstrum)
Fleck
Sharp (Robinson)
McBurnie (Mousset)

No chance I’d risk JOC in the cup tbf. Let’s see how this Robinson gets on.

I get your thinking, but keeping the 2 overlapping CBs would mean that the rest of the defence is alongside a regular, which I think is helpful to avoid the sort of disjointed XI we see if we change too much. Bash & JOC are I believe fit enough to cope. J.Robinson will have also had the sum total of 3 days getting trained into our system – I don’t think that’s going to help Osborn if he’s wing-back Saturday to get better used to the role (which based on the Fylde game, he needs to improve on).

Not sure he will throw Jack Robinson straight in, only been here a few days and wilder has stated a strong team will play

Verrips
Rodwell Jags J.Robinson
K.Freeman, Morrison, Besic, L.Freeman, Osborn
C Robinson Sharp

Subs
Moore (if fit)
Basham
Lunny
Bryan
McGoldrick (if fit)
McBurnie
Clarke

Thats a strong enough team to give Millwall some problems. I get the disjointed point of view, but that's an attaching line up so can cope with J Robinson no being fully up to speed with the system and the role.

Baldock and Stevens need some rest (dont forget Stevens has played for ROI several times too), the three CB's also (i'd have Bash on bench), same for Norwood and Fleck

I would find it hard to pick a few first teamers who I'd want to risk. Sharp should start for the match fitness as I think he's got a part to play in the run in.

Besic needs the fitness as does Freeman but I wouldn't risk Norwood as he's too important to us in the league. We could play a '10' with Robinson starting.

Defensively I wouldn't risk any of the normal back 5 and Verrips will play in goal.

By the process of elimination then I'd play a similar team to Fylde and if we do we'll lose 3 or 4 nil:

Verrips
K Freeman, Rodwell, Jags, Robinson, Osborn
Besic/Lundstram, Morrison, Freeman
Sharp/Leon, Robinson

IMO. Until we have 40 points we have to protect the first team. Miw waw is a game in which we could get injuries. I would hate to struggle for the rest of the season to get the points if we suddenly lose two key defenders. The only thing we were supposed to do this season was stay up and I'm too cautious to risk the defence and lose a string of games by a single goal making it dodgy at the end of the season. I have moved from negative to positive with Chris Wilder's management but we need to take care of the priority before we risk injuries. Also it's a good opportunity to give game time to those close to the first team and the cover players. So Jack Robinson (if not cup tied) should play as should Rodwell and Jags. That way we keep our first three safe and fresh. Luke and Keiren Freeman need games and Billy and Robinson would work well together. Osborn is close to the first team and needs minutes in case Enda is injured at some point. So I think the team picks itself.

Moore / Verrips
Rodwell Jags Robinson
Freeman Besic Freeman Ravel Osborn
Sharp Robinson

Unless something significantly changes in the next 3 days, we aren’t going to be simply putting out the lineup vs Fylde again with maybe one extra change. Had we not looked as exhausted as we did at Anfield, it would have been stronger – that had been the plan said Wilder. We are not going to be resting everyone.

We should do, if Norwood gets injured we're a major part of the team down. If Bash gets injured I honestly think he's irreplaceable within the current squad, same with JOC. Fleck is replaceable but he's still bloody good and I would rather have him than not. Besic/Lundstram are replaceable with each other so they could play.

The forward line we can play anyone from the full set as we have options up front if one is to get injured.

I'd like to see:

Verrips

K Freeman
Rodwell
Jags
J Robinson
Osborn

Lunny
Ravel
L Freeman

Sharp
Mousse

Subs:
Henderson
Fleck
Norwood
Besic
JOC
McBurnie
Stevens

2 week break for the first 11 is very welcome.

I'm sure Wilder wants to put out a strong side, but in a system which doesn't rotate the first team there are players who desperately need to get some game time under their belt and one or two who need a confidence boost. I would still expect a lot of changes from the regular eleven.
