Egan in particular, is no slouch !!I think you're right about that. I must be honest, I thought we'd get done for pace a lot more this season and that players like O'Connell and Egan would be exposed. I don't think either are particularly fast or able to recover once someone goes past them. But their positioning is generally excellent and so is their level of commitment and we have pace in Baldock and Basham in particular, so it's all working out well so far. And of course, Stevens is emerging as an immense player in his own right. TBH I think he was the first player to really take advantage of being in the Premier league rather than looking scared of it. He seems to have got the attitude that "I'm good, and I'm going to show them what I can do". Whereas some of the others have been a bit nervous and apprehensive, but they are surely growing into it.
Badger, Hemsley, Flynn, Colquhon, Powell. They were the back 5 when I was a lad - and they were good - but collectively I think the current back 5 are better.
