Good team is beating average team. No great surprise is it?
possession 72% wba 28% blades - would settle for 2-0 here, Blackie needs to deliver the mother-of-all half time teamtalks or we are in for a real hammering today.....do we have a plan b?
Len, you are of course right, but even Blackwell is aware this area of the team needs strengthening. The most worrying thing is we have 3 midfield players in Quinn, Montgomery and Harper who are nowhere near up to standard and until they are all replaced we will go nowhere.
It's about more than the odd player here and there.
We're a club in decline, a club with no ethos beyond scuffling away, a club light years behind West Brom despite endless academy developments, foreign clubs etc, etc.
We need major change either through a change right at the top or forced through relegation or financial meltdown.
nothing to lose now blackie come on.
Blackie hasn't played for years and he's not on the bench... so he'd be breaking the rules.![]()
worth a try tho isnt it? haha
want to see blackie make some changes would like to see him bring on camara and yeates sooner rather than later see if they can change the game.
Camara on I hope he's focussed for this as he needs to be snappy if this games going to develop for us.
Hopefully he'll get Yeates on aswell.
I didn't really expect to see a win today (though I'm always hopeful) - but . . . dang. That was sad. At least Coventry's draw left us in a play-off spot.
sigh.
Question (serious one, actually, because I admit to being horribly obtuse when it comes to strategy): Why does Kevin wait so long to make changes? Does he promise the players that they'll get to play 'x' number of minutes, regardless of the situation?
Strange to say but I reckon such stubborness betrays a rather worrying lack of self belief. Or at least confidence.
I reckon he over analyses the opposition and comes up with a cunning plan to combat their strengths. When his cleverness in devising such a strategy fails to do the job it takes him a very long time to admit it to himself. He clings to the idea that his strategy is going to work eventually for far too long. To make early substitutions would be for him a severe loss of face.

It is strange to say, I would have thought such stubborness would suggest an over confidence in his own ability to select the right team or his players to perform.
