Not really. Getting totally outplayed is no surprise either.
What surprised me was people on here not seeing the writing on the wall on Tuesday.
The comical attempt to get by with a bloke who's played three games in a year is taking the piss out of the fans after selling Kilgallon.
Some other loanee will probably turn up after Watford have turned us over and we'll meander on aimlessly.

Len, you are of course right, but even Blackwell is aware this area of the team needs strengthening. The most worrying thing is we have 3 midfield players in Quinn, Montgomery and Harper who are nowhere near up to standard and until they are all replaced we will go nowhere.

as good as he can be, Kyle Walker might as well be sat with me. I said before the match that he'd come inside every time onto his right. Kyle hasn't noticed yet and we've played 45 mins, hes been beaten every time.

Anyone thought of a reason for the pen yet? there was only the referee in the ground who thought it was. Been 2 or 3 since that have looked far more like it.

It's about more than the odd player here and there.
We're a club in decline, a club with no ethos beyond scuffling away, a club light years behind West Brom despite endless academy developments, foreign clubs etc, etc.
We need major change either through a change right at the top or forced through relegation or financial meltdown.

What are we to do Len? Our Killa back up got injured and so we're stuck with an unfit Centrehalf.

That said, we shouldn't be going to places like West Brom with such a weak centre half and a decent bank balance.

As I said before, the "good business" for Killa is only good if we manage to get a decent replacement.

However, from the comms all the problems seem to be coming through a midfield thats not good enough

Camara on I hope he's focussed for this as he needs to be snappy if this games going to develop for us.

I didn't really expect to see a win today (though I'm always hopeful) - but . . . dang. That was sad. At least Coventry's draw left us in a play-off spot.

Question (serious one, actually, because I admit to being horribly obtuse when it comes to strategy): Why does Kevin wait so long to make changes? Does he promise the players that they'll get to play 'x' number of minutes, regardless of the situation?

I reckon he over analyses the opposition and comes up with a cunning plan to combat their strengths. When his cleverness in devising such a strategy fails to do the job it takes him a very long time to admit it to himself. He clings to the idea that his strategy is going to work eventually for far too long. To make early substitutions would be for him a severe loss of face.

Strange to say but I reckon such stubborness betrays a rather worrying lack of self belief. Or at least confidence.

This game really did highlight how poor we are at passing and retaining possession. All Squinnn seems to do is hoof the ball aimlessly over his shoulder. Fortune, Stewart clearly not good enough. Blackwell seems to be doing the best he can with both hands tied behind his back but makes substitutions far too late and can't seem to see what all the fans have seen for years. Our midfield is a load of knackers! We can work hard all day long and 'put a shift in' but there is no quality. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's counter intuitive but I still believe it's true. A fully confident man would feel at ease admitting he got something wrong and feel he had the ability to do something about it on the hoof as it were. Blackwell's stubborness seems to me a lack of cojones.

It's the same kind of misguided arrogance that never allows a politician to admit to making a mistake even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. They are simply too frightened and weak to admit it.

There is a third way here. He knows we're not good enough so it doesnt really matter who he plays. With a game thats more winnable on Tuesday assuming Watford can manage to get a game staged, maybe better to leave it and keep the benchwarmers fresh for when he changes the forward line for the 492746th game in a row.
