I was originally going to title the thread "Who was your MOM today" but I thought that maybe would have some rude overtones to it. :D
Anyway I will shock myself by going for Mini Ginger. Excellent game today particularly second half with some nice link ups with Camara

I think you're right - Quinn was my MOM.

Agree with you. Won a lot of balls and passed very well. His only mistake was his attempted back pass in the final minutes, which luckily for us, bounced off the shins of a Boro player who wasnt expecting the ball to go to his direction and the ball went out of play for a throw in

Walker for me. Best right back in tier by a long long way.

He did make two or three wrong decisions which caused him to lose the ball but on each occassion he recovered very well to get the ball back

What about the countless times he banged it randomly forward and lost the ball?

If that was Monty or Quinny, he'd have been booed off the pitch.

He played well defensively, but his use of the ball was shocking at times.

James Harper without a doubt. Good box to box display and rarely wasted a ball. Blacko has to show some bottle and pair Willo with him in the centre. Ward and Yeates out wide and we might, at last, have a decent midfield.

The manager will ruin Lee Williamson if he persists with playing him wide.

Creswell has once again showed commitment and courage and was well rewarded with the winner.

Kyle walker just pipped monty for motm.

Does some great defending then cocks up. Played more long balls than anyone today and he's a great footballer. Once he gets his confidence back to play short then the Blades will hammer someone.
Quinny MOTM. Ginny fish for him:fishy:

Man of the Match: Marcel Seip for me. Looked rock solid, no fuss, no worries over Killa leaving after that. Gets it over Morgan due to Morgan's couple of pointless hoofs.

Also, despite not having much to do again, Bunn looked competent and reliable and came and dealt with crosses and difficult bouncing shots well. Nothing I wouldn't have expected from him but he certainly looks to be over his wobble and is back to being a solid and dependable keeper I thought he looked early season.

Marcel Seip for me, did his jobe very well, although I thought Morgan was awesome as well.

I thought Seip played well, Bunn was very confident, but Squinny MOM. Played very well, got a bit upset by the yellow card but got over it well :)

Got to agree, motm was Quinny for me.
Walker played very well, but his distribution can be poor at times.
Excellent win.

I can't give MoM to a defender as they played a team that barely bothered to attack, and somehow got away with a penalty decision that would have blown the win.

Midfield. I don't like seeing four centre midfielders in a home game, and the first half showed why. But Harper just keeps getting better, and Quinny was more composed than usual.

However... it has to go to player who won the game. He's an ordinary but honest footballer who did what he usually does, but got the most important touch of the 90. MoM = Riccardo Cresswell.

What's good is that there are several different choices for MoM! Quinny for me, just in front of Walker. Forget the long balls, he made some crucial tackles and worked very hard.

Stephen Quinn had a great game and was MOM IMO. Bit disappointed with Taylor first half and Williamson not in game much was playing out of position IMO.

Walker for me. Several excellent tackles, and I blame long punts upfield on poor movement. When Johnson came on it was no surprise he was soon put on the right to avoid being marked by Walker.

Maybe cos it wasn't a penalty...a bit like the 2 possible penalties for us (the handball and the challenge on Cresswell in front of the Kop):D

Are we talking about Seip's challenge on Aliadiere? Looked a clear foul on TV, and I was very relieved the ref didn't see it.

the point I was making was the way highlighting their potential penalty(which i think is still in doubt having watched it on TV.....Aliadiere just threw himself down and I thought Seip got the ball...as Claridge said,50/50)..as opposed to our two claims .

JD was saying that our defenders got away with it and could have blown the win but didn't balance the arguement by saying Boro's defenders got away with it and could have caused a heavier defeat.

Very, very, very kind on Mr Walker here!

There were plenty of options the majority of times he wellied it to an opponent... One of which left me completely bemused as he had THREE other options down the right side and the middle, three different players making runs and pulling away from their markers (as rare as that is for the Blades)... He looked at them, then booted it to their centre back.

He's been doing it all season, him and Killa must be close to the biggest culprits for giving away possession by doing this.

Its a pity, because we know he can use the ball well, its one of a few faults he needs to work out of his game if he wants to move on to the next level.

Give over, he's head and shoulders above any right back I've seen in the league this season.
Having Williamson in front of him (no fault of Williamson) instead of Ward makes a big difference but the reason he doesn't get booed is because he's obviously a very good player.
Any team in this league would welcome him with open arms.

You keep telling me this Len, and I agree, he's top class and he's a very good player.

What I don't agree with, is that he's at the best he can be or ready for the Premiership. He's got a couple of problems to work out of his game, which I keep telling, for you to tell me I'm wrong and he's a great player! :D

In summary, he can be a class above... BUT... that doesn't mean he's faultless.

Foxy, he already is a class above at this level and that is where we play.
It's a crying shame him and Kyle I aren't still our players - and a crying shame for them individually that they very obviously have gone to the wrong club.
Naughton in particular would almost certainly have had regular football at Everton and instead he's tossed a year of his career away.

I agree, but they weren't forced against their will :)

Infact, quite the opposite with Walker.

As a club, we couldn't turn it down, as players, they'd have had to have had balls to turn it down... I think they'd have both progressed more staying on for another year though.

He may be a class above, but yesterday, was his distribution a class above? certainly not... which I why I say he needs to work on it.

Perhaps he'll get away with it more in our division, but giving away possession so easily in the Premiership can be fatal.

He does get away with covering his own mistakes in this league (for the most part).

If Spurs threw him in they'd be taking a risk, but maybe one worth taking. It could just be a concentration problem. If I was as good as Walker I'd probably doze off facing some Championship wingers. :)

As for Naughton, he needs a loan spell or a Spurs injury crisis urgently...
