He's clearly on the wind up though 😂😂 apologies if I'm out of line 😵
He's a Unitedite, not always on the same page as everyone else, but that is not a crime or anything to be offended about.

Genuinely sorry if that's the case! New to the online forum thing and thought he was on the wind up!! 😓😓

Maybe he's just a nutter like me, but then again we've all gotta be a bit nuts to follow the blades 😁🔴⚪

Robinson - Good player at Championship level, will have to step us some though
Freeman - Will decide by January that the frozen wastelands of Sheffield aren't for him and his family, we'll sell him (at a loss) of course so that he can return to London. After all you can't keep an unhappy player

Mousset - Just won't get it
Jagielka - Will get ripped a new arsehole in the Prem just like he was doing before Everton dropped him
Morrison - Mmmm, shows off with intricate bits of skill, but ultimately goes nowhere and produces nothing.

In December our line up will be
Moore
Baldock/Freeman Basham, Egan, O'Connell, Stevens
Norwood, Fleck, Robinson
Sharp, McGoldrick

Similar to our Championship side, but more defensively minded

Genuine question.. who have your lot signed this summer? And do you think you will recoup anything for Rhodes?

Me, I like that Robinson, me. Freeman, too. Mousset is an exciting prospect. Jags good experience. Ravel worth the punt.

But I hope we sign the following too:

Dean Henderson
Michael Van Dutchman
Mason Holgate
Matt Lowton
Kristian Pedersen
Leroy Fer
Ben Osborn
Andy Rinomhota
Josh Dasilva
Romaine Sawyers
Joe Rothwell
Oliver McBurnie
Kemar Roofe
Jack Marriott

Only then will I be happy.

So if you were to take it seriously, who would you have seriously had us sign? Serious question, seriously

Maupay, McBurnie, Jarrod Bowen, and Callum Robinson who we've got
And Henderson on loan
Sometimes you just have to offer the price being asked and stop fucking about.
Maupay, McBurnie and Bowen are potential £50 million players, they are the right age and already have great records at Championship level, ready to move up to the next level, but as usual United can't make themselves an attractive proposition even for Championship players because of their petty penny pinching.
It does nothing but put doubts in a players mind

So you don't trust wilder then I take it

So you don't trust wilder then I take it

Yes, I do trust Wilder
I don't trust the owners though and never have. They'll make noises about interests in various players and offers going in for various players, but it's always followed up by agents fucking about, player can't decide, selling club wanting a price that WE AREN'T PREPARED TO PAY. Who the fuck are we to decide what a selling club should sell for ?

If the price is £20 million and you're not prepared to pay it and the club won't budge from that price then fuck off and look for somebody else, instead of trying to buy favour with the fans by saying it's all the agents fault, the players fault, the selling clubs fault.

They've got this blame somebody else bolox off to a tee.
The price is the price, either agree it or leave it alone and move on instead of trying to conduct player purchases with the same level of professionalism as a Moroccan market trader. It's a shame the same negotiation skills aren't used when it comes to player sales.

I would say in the case of Maupay and McBurnie, there is sufficient reason to push for a sale on our terms. Other clubs have baulked at the price and Wilder is sticking to his policy of being fiscally prudent. Both players will want to play at a higher level, and yet both are risky, untested options at that level. Caveat emptor. :)

I'm all for a bit of negotiation, but it is pretty obvious that Brentford aren't going to budge and we aren't going to pay what they want. So it's a stalemate, move on.
Sometimes you just have to either pay up or move on, but don't drag things out for two months prior to the most important season for years.
With Maupay or McBurnie I wish we'd bitten the bullet and paid it because I think there is a £50 million future player in both of them. But with United the risk of doing it will always outweigh the risk of not doing it.

As you rightly say, "The most important season for years". Worth hanging on, without losing our focus.
Under current transfer policy, all transfers are a risk for us. Just have to trust Wilder, and leave it to the buying team at the lane.So far, that has worked pretty well for us I think. Despite delays, Wilder has eventually got his man.
Happy to stick to a sensible, if scary, budget. :)

Evening Blades, first time poster long time lurker and all that jazz 😂 so how are we all feeling about or transfer activity so far? None of us expected us to spend crazy money, I feel the deals we've done so far are very positive and in keeping with Wilders unwillingness to break the bank. Very excited by the signings of Mousset and Robinson, hopeful on Freeman and very intrigued by Morrison. With the obvious being Henderson, who else are we realistically hoping to see move to the lane? UTB 🔴⚪

Assuming Osborn and hendo get over the line, I’m pleased with the business we’ve done so far.

We’ve addressed our major weekenesses with pace and reduced the age of the squad. Robinson and mousset could be exciting players for the long term.

Osborn adds useful cover and jags experience

We’ve also added the LT Duffy replacement with freeman and a wild card with Morrison

Any further additions - forward, DM, GK would be the icing on the cake for me. Mcburnie in particular.

I’d say Maupay doesn’t appear particularly keen to join us, which is entirely up to him.

Saw some of the new signings in action the other night against the might of Chesterfield. It's hard to say how they will do in the prem based off performances against a non-league team but it looks like we've got some real talent for our money. Robinson is quick and skillful, maybe needs to work on his finishing a little bit but i'm sure he'll improve from being with Billy. Freeman to me looked like a younger Duffy, seemed to link up with the strikers well & showed some good skill to assist Billy's second. Jags is just Jags, looked safe on the ball every time he had it. Saw him sprinting back to make a tackle at one point & he definitely still has some pace.

Interested to see how Lys & Ravel are, but the players I saw the other night seem to fit straight into our team.

On a side note, all of our signings so far seem genuinely thrilled to be at the club, doesn't look like we have anyone who is just there for the wage. That attitude could be worth 6-10 points alone over the season.

Then he's probably not right for our club. :)

Absolutely, good player but like a lot of foreigners they cant see any further than London or the London area if they are over here
A £200000 a week contract at Man U or Man City would soon change his mind for a while. But even Ronaldo left Man Utd saying the City is ugly and lacked culture

In terms of our business now Osborn and hendo are over the line i think we are in a good position for the rest of the window

Our most pressing needs have all been addressed

  • GK
  • fleck and Stevens cover
  • Duffy replacement
  • pacey and technical forwards
  • another defensive body

We now have a couple of weeks left with money in the bank but no gun to our heads to make additions. We can be calm and not panic into doing deals at the wrong price / player.

But could feasible add the cherry on top with another top end forward - OM or similar

Add cover at RCB, GK competition or a physical defensive midfielder potentially
