Imagine agents will already be on the phone to wilder offering their clients services for next season....for a meagre 7 figure sum (fees only).

Henderson
Jack Harrison
Maupay
Dack?

Wilders signed the best players from the league he's been promoted from to great effect.

He's looked at captain/leader types that have character. I can't see him moving too far from that philosophy?

I can't see any mercenaries coming on board or none British players/players from foreign leagues...

they need prem experience or they are gona struggle
I remember hearing the same when we promoted from League one, before tanking the shit out of the La Liga massive with largely the same squad.
Pub league to Premiership with minimal investment and one of the lowest wage bills in the league, while you’ve spunked millions for mid table anonymity.
Never mind, I hear you’re almost guaranteed promotion next year thanks to Bruce and what could possibly go wrong.

Dack is a good shout, nick Powell at Wigan as well. Free transfer I believe.

Bannon, Forestieri, Westwood, Fletcher,Reach,Palmer,Hutchinson, Joao, and Lees.
Should have no problem staying up with these players.

You joke but there's as couple on there that are worth a look at; obviously Palmer and Hutchinson are absolute dross and Forestieri is a prick. But Westwood for free would be an excellent signing, I could see Wilder bringing something out in Jaoao too, there's a player in him I'm sure. I also rate Bannan, but not sure he'd fit.

Sorry this isn't very bladey, they're all gash and couldn't lace Basham's boots.

IF we get promoted - PLease, PLease, PL..ease, no more deadbeat repeats of the likes of Phil soddin' Thompson, perpetual Ghost Martin Pretty bloody Peters, Vinny Jerkoff Jones, Hopeless Hapless Hammond or Ian Rusty Rush. Trust Wilder to carry on doing what he's done so far - have the magic touch of John Harris and keep pulling very lively and talented rabbits out of the hat.

Some joker even mentioned the name Jordan Rhodes for Christ's sake (I hope he was having a laugh) - it would be tough enough without going into Prem League matches with 10 men.

Can see Maupay being well out of our price range. Will probabaly go for more than £20m

Think Wilder/Knill will target championship for new players, enough quality in there to build a good and united squad. JOC, Egan,Stevens,Baldock,Norwood,Fleck,McGold wil hold there own,Duffy ,Basham and Sharp squadplayers. Still, we do have a few on contract that won't get much gametime. Tyler Smith might get in there, then get some of the better talents around in the championship. Freeman at qpr one to challenge Duffy at a reasonable price. IF we do the job saturday it will be an interesting pre-season. Will we continue the trademark british/irish approach or are we going to sign players from elsewere. Think we'll be a bit like Burnley, and hopefully way off the Fulham stupidity. Think theres little difference between top 6 championship and bottom 8 in the prem. Sign 3-5 to challenge our starting eleven and some young upcoming talent. Goallie must be sorted, don't think Moore is the answer in the prem.

Pugh, Pugh, barney MCgrew, cuthbert, dibble and grub. Postman pat as physio. Piss the premier with that lot.

Callum Robinson would have to be considered.

He's back in the groove now it seems, after injury.

He missed 4 months but still has 12 goals. He would've probably been on 20 by now, which would have put him well above the £10m bracket.

We could possibly use that injury to get him cheaper, as we allowed Bournemouth to do with Brooks' glandular fever.

If we seal the deal it's going to be a long summer based on this thread.

I was thinking about this earlier as I watched a video with Egan and Stevens and they described Robinson as always happy. Wilder likes his character references and these lads link up for the Ireland squad.

Had a browse on the Preston forum and it appears he will be in the last year of his contract and he won’t sign one.

experience is the main thing if they wana stay up they gotta sign the right players, these are ones id go for...chris samba, joe hart, younis kaboul, garry cahill, ibrahim afellay, obafemi martins, ya know players like that and if you dont agree then get fucked

mate i run this forum im the boy...lets see who they bring in anyway i would rather bust wage bill and smash league like wolves have than go down like little pussy holes like they did last time against wigan..fuck it they might aswell go for it like wolves have this season adn theyve got players on more than 100k a week

Just wondered what peoples opinions were with regard potential signings for premier league considering they are gona have to strengthen, iv noticed theres a load of free transfers available..Garry Cahill and james Milner being 2 of many aswell as players like obafemi martins and ibrahim affelay who are out of contract? who would you bring to lane to make sure we stay up? heres the link for free agents, i think it makes more sense to sign freebies than be splashing out, heres the link ...

Bet you were on the Leeds board last week when they looked like going up, telling them to bring Milner back to the club

:)

I’ll get f*cked then. ;)

I know that you’re joking/wind up, but I’d agree that if we did get promoted, I think we might need a bit of ring craft down the spine of the team. Could be age & experience, could be just experience. I’d like to retain the services of Hendo, he’ll certainly end up a regular there, but he’s currently untried in the prem. The lad at Cardiff has done well, on his way to POTY, and might want to keep on playing at top level.

As much as I’d love the experience of a Cahill or Jagielka at CCB, we couldn’t afford their fee/wages and it would disrupt the growth of Egan as a player.

The same goes for midfield. If we do get promoted, I think we’d need to be a bit more pragmatic with the central 3, and possibly employ a box to box destroyer/water carrier to give us some rigidity. Again two ideal players would be Drinkwater and Milner, but again wages/fees would be prohibitive. There were rumours of Milner wanting to end his career at Leeds in the prem and was waiting to see what happened before committing to Liverpool. Drinkwater has got nowhere near the 1st team at Chelsea, so might be available on a loan? Still big wages. When Leicester went up, they brought Cambiasso in as an old head and it worked.

Up front is where I think we need to push the boat out if we got promoted. Cardiff have shown how close you can get to safety by being competive and though not having an out & our goal threat. Warnock did the same with us last time to be honest. Keep the batterings down to a minimum and pick up strategic points. If CW attends to the rest of the squad in the same manner as he has done in the last couple of seasons, we should be just lacking that razzle dazzle up front. Due to our budget & commmon sense it would need to be a well paid, experienced, competent loanee for the season.

yeah your on my wave length, there are loads of plyers on frees imo its better to sign them (the good ones) and just pay them a signing on fee rather than shell out millions. jack rodwell at blackburn could be worth a look, i just dont want them to be in a situation where they dont sin enough quality (cos they are gona need it) and get hammered or outclassed look at wolves this season, take a bay leaf off theyre tree...you know what tehy say dont you, come prepared or be prepared to fail...true that lol

It's real life, not FIFA or Football Manager
true but if they dont build a strong enough team they are coming straight back down and thats wank mate, last time they went up in 2006 they hardly made any quality signings i couldnt believe it

Yeah and take a page out of Fulham's book whilst you're at it, oh wait...

We'll aim for a Prem equivalent of Stearman and McGoldrick and hopefully fill the rest with the best we can snipe from the Championship. Wilder's said in the past that he doesn't want players that see United as a step down and, aside from our aging forward line of Duffy, Sharp, McGoldrick, the bulk of the team are long term investments. We ought to stick to the model that's got us where we are.

We can't compete in this division when it comes to big money signings, it'll be even more so if we go up. We need to think long term.

Like the sound of that. Add it to our apparent interest last summer and his form this season, and I think it's very likely we'll go for him.
