Andy Morrison - Hardman
average

He was an average to garbage assistant manager as well...and a complete thick headed tool to go with it!

This bit on his wiki page gives you an idea about him...

'
After Morrison's departure from Bury, he decided to retire from the playing side of the game. He became assistant manager to Andy Preece at Worcester City.

During a pre-season friendly match against Kidderminster Harriers on 5 August 2006, an incident in the changing-room area caused the game to be abandoned after 71 minutes. Harriers' manager Mark Yates called the referee over to him and said he was going to take his team off due to an off-the-field incident involving Morrison. On 17 August, Worcester City announced the results of an internal enquiry into the incident. The club fined Morrison the maximum allowed under FA guidelines, suspended him for three games, and warned him of his future conduct. The Football Association itself fined Morrison £750 and also gave him a six-match touchline ban.[14]

Morrison resigned in April 2007'

He would get aggressive with some of our supporters as well after games if they questioned the tactics after a defeat etc.

Ian Hamilton.

Michael Doyle.

Marcelo.

All pretty terrible really but managed to be professional footballers all the same.

Ian Hamilton - yes! Looked like a movie star pretending to be a footballer.

Marcelo - How dare you?! Was one of my favs growing up. Scored some vital goals for us.

Andy Taylor, the full back. No obvious weaknesses but equally no obvious quality. Released after missing a crucial pen v Hudders.

I used to love Marcelo as a kid but he was pretty shit when I think back.

But, better than Jordan Stewart. Not the best claim to fame I know.....

Played well against us last time I saw him.

Dear old Nozzer, if his feet had been on the right legs, he’d still have been utter shite - his nickname was Wonderloaf, because he was fresh to the last slice
We called him Ten Bob Feet. Whenever he kicked the ball we genuinely had no idea where it was going, and by the look of things neither did he. It could have been an excellent clearance, a brilliant forward pass, a punt into touch to clear the lines or a missile careening off the head of someone in the John Street front row, usually a person in a wheelchair, because he sure as hell couldn’t find the second row or indeed any of the others.

Alan Young - See Finnieston/Ebbrell
Derek Richardson - Took crosses with ease against Sarfend and all looked great for Boxing Day at the Pig......
Phil Starbug -wonder player on loan and then we signed him.....
Tony Towner - Absolute star for the Millers but couldn't cope with the long travel to S2
Franz Carr - One brilliant game to thrash Spurs and a laid on goal for old 'head turned upside down'. Otherwise, see Field
Chris Guthrie - See Cadette (same bloody selling club too!)
Lee Hendrie - No good games but some excellent pro badge kissing in front of the Kop
David Carney - Top Aussie international, spot the flaw there then
Gary Naysmith - See Young

As you say, I could go on.......

Lee Hendrie, useless wage thief! Only thing of note that he did was showing his arse to the Preston fans during his warm at Deepdale.

There are so many to point the finger at. I was at Loftus Road when Ian Rush was on the field in a Blades shirt, that was about his main contribution.
I thought Morrison was not a good signing, same with Bullock. Anyone who went to Gillingham and witnessed the 4-0 thrashing would no doubt agree.

Made a career out of heading, tackling and taking long throws!

A defender making a living out of tackling and heading? How very dare he?!

He wasn’t that bad, actually thought he was quite a cultured footballer in that team alongside Jags and Tonge etc
And he made the move to us to better himself as a human being of course

I agree with Jordan Stewart. Although he could be rivalled by Marcus Williams as the worst ever left back to don a Blades shirt.

From the past, how about midfielder Jon Cullen? £250k from Hartlepool. Home game and I'm not sure of the opponents. He was a sub. He warmed up and stood alongside the lineman waiting to come on. He looked absolutely terrified and overwhelmed by the size of the crowd. Awful player.
I defence of Andy Barnsley, he was not that bad just a steady Eddie who did the basics competently. No more no less.
UTB

There is some great competition but this guy wins the worst player I've ever seen in a United shirt, utterly terrible. Would make Richard Keogh look like VVD. utter wank player.

Like a grenade with the pin out...

Leigh Bromby was described as an effeminate stick insect by a poster on the old BU forum

For shite my award would go to Laurens Ten Heuvel, only 5 games for us and with good reason, played 22 games in England without a goal,

I'd put David Mcallister in the meh bracket

But definitely the most infuriating for me was Woolford

I remember seeing Rush 'playing' for us at QPR and was disgusted by his non-effort. I'd grown up as a kid watching him tear teams apart for years for Liverpool, he even earned a move to Juve. This performance was a travesty to those memories.

Ironically, that was Rush's best game for us, as he actually did something useful. He laid on one of the goals with a neat one-two with Dean Saunders.

We've seen our fare share of nonentities at the Lane down the years, many of whom will forever remain mere footnotes in the history of SUFC, recalled only by the most devout, or the sufferers of the most vivid nightmares. Some however have etched themselves into the annals of history by interspersing their particular period of humdrummery with the odd moment which has left our fans an intertwined web of limbs and ecstasy.

My nomination is Ryan Flynn, a player who, unsurprisingly, played a large part in our continued failure to leave League 1 behind, somehow managing over 150 games of almost total mediocrity but who, with a swish and a poke against Villa and Charlton respectively, helped lay the foundations for one of our most memorable ever cup runs and send Blades everywhere loopy.

As we try to play out the remainder of this particular embuggerance of an international break, who are the average Joes who will forever remain etched in the collective memory?
Flynn also deserves a mention for his performance in the League Cup semi second leg the following season, when he was on his run of doing a solid job at right back. I can't remember how or why, but most of the second half he was playing on his own down our right flank and played out of his skin - superb performance.

Same cup run - McNulty absolutely ran Southampton ragged and nabbed the goal; Michael Doyle's penalty at West Ham.

I think a strong contender for first place is John Cofie and his outrageous goal against Bournemouth.

While we’re on about names we’d call players..

We used to call him “Notworthy” and Akinbye, “Akinbadbuy” also used to call John Gannon “wash and go” cause of the curly perm, but our favourite was Tightpants ... for Adrian littlejohn.. all in good spirit mind.. with the exception of “notworthy” they all did great things at least once in a blades shirt.. so I don’t have bad memories of all the others.. just nyron..

Tony McMahon
God I disliked this guy, came across as just an angry little man. Wanted to just argue, cause shit, kick, nip, costantly niggling little sneaky fouls, never his fault when he inevitably messed it up. He did take a decent free kick every once in a while though.

Lee Hendrie, useless wage thief! Only thing of note that he did was showing his arse to the Preston fans during his warm at Deepdale.
Never missed an opportunity to kiss the badge of any team he played for, bet he still kisses the badge of whatever hes wearing in the back garden kickabout with his kids

1. Goram (7 appearances)
2. Parker (10 appearances)
3. Gayle (119 appearances)
4. Barret (5 appearances)
5. Goram (11 appearances)
6. Ford (154 appearances)
7. Hamilton ( 45 appearances)
8. Smeets ( 8 appearances)
9. Starbuck (36 appearances)
10. Cadamarteri (21 appearances)
11. Onuorah (7 appearances)

Think Gayle is a bit harsh. 119 games and the majority must have been in the Prem

There is something ever so Sheffieldish that a thread designed to celebrate and remember the rare good things done by bad players has descended into your archetypal 'who was the shittest player to play for us' discussion. I have never experienced a city so determined to be negative as Sheffield.
