If he gets booked against WBA, he’ll miss the Sty game and Rotherham. My guess is Wilder will just tell him to get on with it but he does get some daft bookings. Even if he’s ok for the Pigs he could miss games against Leeds and Bristol with a further booking.

What do we think? Play Coutts against WBA or trust to luck and hope Ollie showing a bit more self control? Here’s Jame’s Shield’s take on it.

Norwood plays v WBA. It’s by far the more important game. If need be Coutts comes in for Pigs & Rotherham games. I’m more than okay with that. & that means Norwood back for Leeds. Either way Coutts is more than capable back up,we have it in abundance now.

No, you play your strongest team vs. WBA and hope he plays the next one too. He's played around 30 games and got 9 bookings so say there's about 70% chance he'll play both anyway, you can't afford to weaken yourself in such a tough game as next week's. I don't know when the cut off is for bookings but he'll likely get the suspension anyway so most probably you're just adding an extra game that he misses for little to no benefit.

Beat me to it, was going to give my opinion but your words match mine exactly.
Play Norwood against West Brom and not massively worried if Norwood does pick up a yellow leading to a suspension.

Yes, Norwood is better than Coutts but Coutts is more than capable of playing the “Coutts role”.

Does it really matter if he's suspended against the Rustys. They are so shit we could play half of the U23s and still have a more than evens chance of winning.

Edit. Or more to the point. Pigs will be more concerned about not losing.

Plays against WBA but if he makes it to 65 minutes without a booking, gerrimsubbed if the scoreline permits.

As much as I'd like him to play against them lot, getting a point or points of WBA is more important at the end of the day.

Couttsy will be reyt anyway should be get booked.

I said yesterday that I would play our best team v West Brom, which at the moment includes Norwood. If the worst happens then Coutts steps out against the Pigs [and Rotherham?] and I just happen to think that he would absolutely love it. They couldn't get near him at the sty and even if he isn't 100% he is still better than anything they can put out.

Imagine the touching of cloth in S6 when our line up includes Sharp [20+ goals and pig hater] Madine [nailed on to upset them] Duffy [bounce killer] Fleck [that free kick] and Coutts [he never gives the ball away]... and this time they won't have the excuse of missing half of their superstars, even though last time they were only missing Hutchinson and the Fairy. I am not saying it will be easy but at home the pressure is on them to take the game to us. We like teams who have a go at us.

Do you play Norwood in either:

A) A play-off and potentially automatic promotion rival who’s points are vital to achieving promotion to the Premier League?

Or

B) An irrelevant trampy club with a trampy owner and even more trampier fans dwindling in midtable?

Fucking hard choice this....

Norwood should defiantly play against WBA, he'll hopefully then get his 10th booking against WBA or the pigs and will be back for the Leeds game.

Both games are equally important. Three points on offer for both.

I know this won't be a popular view on here with many but we've got a bigger fish to fry this season than just worrying about beating them.

Personally I'd take losing at the Sty and being promoted as opposed to the opposite. Therefore just pick the strongest available team for the next game.

Agree with this.

Our sequence of games has us playing 4th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 3rd.

It's pretty clear to me that we want his creativity for WBA and Leeds.

No disrespect to Rotherham and Brentford but we are a powerful home team. I'd expect us to be able to absorb the absence of one first teamer, especially with all other absentees likely fit by then.

For the Derby I'd be tempted to play Basham alongside Fleck. He's more mobile than Coutts, and Crainie has already shown his reliability and can slot in alongside Baldock or Freeman.

With Dowell starting that gives energy and long range shooting. This would also give great movement off the bench for when the game is wearing on with Duffy, Hogan and McGoldrick if we start with Madine and Sharp.

He'll definitely get booked against West Brom but should play in that game. Coutts is more than capable of playing the role against pigs and Rotherham. Just not Lundstram please.

For me he plays WBA and plays it in exactly the same way that he's played previous games. If he gets booked, so be it.

We have replacements such as Coutts and Dowell (probably drop Fleck into Norwoods role in this case), both of whom you'd trust to come in and not only do a job, but provide perfect replacements for the pigs.

My concern for West Brom - who do we start up front! We have 4 strikers all having deserving a place up top and they will be going full tilt this week to make it into that starting line up.

Honestly, its a hell of a time to be a Blade!

Got to focus on promotion. The game vs WBA is a 6 pointer, pigs are a mid-table irrelevance.

West Brom away will be our toughest game of the season IMO. So our strongest team need to play

Plays next match against WBA.
Hope Wilder has a word with him though because has you say he does get some needless bookings.

West Brom is the more important game so Norwood has to play if he's fit. If he doesn't get booked then great, if he does then it'll be a shame to not have him play against those scrubbers but it won't be the end of the world.

Imagine if he rested him for the WBA game and we lost ,the bedwetters on here would be incandescent with rage.

I agree re the forwards. For me though at the moment I think madine and sharp. Not because didzy has been poor, just because madine has made a big impact and I think we look more dangerous with him on. Especially now he's off the mark with a couple of goals as well.

Norwood definitely to play against boing boings, strongest team will get something out of the game.
He will get another booking so bound to miss 2 games but as we’ve seen we have strength in depth, Coutts is the man.

If Wednesday wasn’t who they are I’d probably say it’s perfect timing for Norwood to get his two match ban....Wednesday mid table team going nowhere / Rotherham relegation battlers.

Keeping Norwood available for the bigger games.

The booking he picked up against Reading was bloody stupid. After only 10 mins or so, ahead and he has no chance of winning the ball... and it was on the half way line.

Ridiculous.

I would play Norwood, do we not play him if he could pick up an injury we could say that about any player, just put your best team out.

UTB

Start him at West Brom.

Then whisper gently in his ear: "Listen cunt, no silly bookings".

If we have a lead in the game after 65 minutes then get Coutts on for him. Three reasons to do that - stop him getting booked, Coutts is better to protect a lead, get Coutts decent game time ahead of him inevitably having to come in for two games soon.

Anyone know what the cut-off rule is for bookings? I've read it on here somewhere before but I can't for the life of me find it.
