He’s now been taken out of mainstream football education. He was disruptive and confrontational in class. He has been transferred to a Football Referral Unit but his progress is much slower than hoped.

However, as things stand all of Wilder's key summer signings [Deano, Egan, Norwood and Didsy] are giving the panel one hell of a mare in picking a winner.

I've noticed about his role in the last 5-10 games (and from watching the replays)... He's playing much closer to Sharp in the centre forward position. As a consequence both Fleck an Duffy's performances have improved and he's getting in the box more where goals are scored. There's no point havin four people overlapping on the left if there is only one player in the box. Thankfully we've realised this. As a result the ball is being delivered earlier and with more purpose, and we are catching teams on the break or with excellent long passes from the likes of Norwood.

I and many others said we needed more end product from him, particularly as he plays every game. And now he's delivered, which is great.

I don't see such comments were in any way unfair or inaccurate.

It is perhaps amusing that some people are so precious about mild or even constructive criticism when our manager, based on his comments last week, seems fine with the team being booed for poor performances.

Don’t think many realistically doubted him in the first place. For a free signing at championship level to be in double figures in January is staggering though.

TBF, both Goldie and Billy gave been nothing short of brilliant in recent weeks and I'm not just talking goals scored.

McGoldrick has been fantastic. I always knew he had a bit of quality, but I didnt think he would stay fit enough, or get the number of goals he has, so far.

I remember Slew notching a few goals on the back of Creswell selflessly busting his guts and wondered how he'd cope two divisions higher, without that level of support. Perhaps Waghorn is suffering a similar fate

You're right .

In a few games , particularly at Rotherham , he was often too deep and too wide . I' m much happier seeing him in the box supporting Billy and the rewards from this are there for all to see .

My recollection is that they were mostly (if not all) complimentary about his abilities and attitude - if only he could stay free of injury. I remember being encouraged by their comments at the time.
