John Marquis is on fire

Youre being very disingenuous.

You could've applied your last 2 points to John Fleck, as for the 8 clubs - the vast majority were loans.

I'm not saying we should sign him, by the way, I'm just pointing out that your comment doesn't tell the full story, in fact, it's probabaly a little misleading.

Has he just had one good season or did you make that up?
17 last season in league 1. Decent but hardly outstanding so I’d say yes just one. Good start to this season but we are only half way through

The most recent seasons are the most relevant.

He got 17 last season and is on course to comfortably better that this time (14 so far, with no pens).

27 isn't that old for his player type, he'll probably peak in his early 30s.

By the time he's 30 I fancy him to be an established Championship striker.
When your third in the league you need more relevant experience to your position. He would be a bigger gamble at this stage

Having a brilliant season at Donny with 19 goals so far . He's tall , strong , not lacking in pace and at 26 looks a far better proposition than Leon did at that age , and look how that turned out .

Meanwhile , in other news , our new superstar striker has not scored a single goal for over a year ......

Gerrim in before some other fucker nicks him from under our nose .

As you are probably aware, there's no money for buys, only loans and one thing is certain, Donny won't be loaning him to any club

Apart from the fact Fleck has only had 3 clubs prior to us. There's free transfers because nobody wants you and there's free transfers because your current club haven't got a pot to piss in and can't afford you.

Here is the good news re Madine; last 5 seasons Championship appearances only :
Starts 70
Sub apps 29
Mins on pitch 6757
Goals 18
Assists 9
Mins/goal 375
Mins/ass 750
Mins/con to a goal 250

Let me start by saying I'm not advocating signing Marquis, I don't particularly rate him.

However I'm still not with you on the 'one good season' - He's had 2 and a half good seasons.

I think we have our wires crossed. My post was in reply to a comment made on this thread about Tom Eaves, not Marquis!

Very more-ish.

I've always wanted to try crack cocaine - what's it like?

Never done Cocaine mate. I have been around people on coke and they don’t shut up though are very friendly.

Try it mate and post back how it went.

Peace out

Or Kieffer Moore. And Barnsley have decided to start selling their players again... if they ever stopped. Superb selling club.
Two Barnsley season ticketholders have told me that Moore isnt good enough for Championship

I wouldn't take too much notice of that .

From experience , the average Dingle's ability in assessing the effectiveness of strikers is only just worse than that of the average Grunter . Back in the day , I well remember many of the latter telling me that Lee Chapman and Mark Bright were absolute shite , even at the time when they were scoring prolifically for them .

The ability of a striker to move up to another level is always debatable and in this respect , there were many on here who were convinced that neither Billy nor Leon could make that transition . They turned out to be the most prolific partnership in the league .

It's absolutely clear to me that both Moore and Marquis would have both been far better bets than Washington and , in all probability , Madine .

I think they're all of a level that isn't good enough for top flight football. Moore, Marquis, Washington, Madine. I mean...just put match of the day on and look at the quality of strikers in the Premiership and then draw some comparisons. It's a different world.

We are making the best of what we can afford I think. I'm pretty sure Wilder wouldn't be signing the likes of Washington or Madine if he had some serious money behind him. But, he's a good enough manager to get a tune out of them, which might just help us move on a bit and get us nearer to being a Premier League club again in the future. That's all we should hope for really.

John Marquis is on fire and no one could save me but you. It’s strange what desire will make foolish supporters do. I never dreamed that we’d consider buying someone like you. And I never dreamed that we’d consider playing someone like you. No, I don’t want him at the club (this player is never going to get a start). What a shitty game you play, to make me feel this way.

If Doncaster don’t go up then he will be a lot cheaper in the summer, that said I’ve seen a lot of their games and for me he’s a good league one striker. I don’t think he’ll have the same success in this division....it’s a big jump now.

Agree the amount of goals prove this point .think someone will take a gamble on him though

I thought Lyle Taylor showed athleticism and enthusiasm but not a great deal else.

To be fair to him, he's since found is feet at that level and is a decent striker these days.

How have you calculated that ‘all probability’ ratio, given there is little or no data capable of making a comparison?

Madine is a substantially better player than Moore. I’ve seen them both play. That’s my ‘all probability’.

His. His. Fucking ‘His’.

and anybody who looks anything like decent is swept up by a premier league team. I'll be surprised if Maupay doesn't step up to the premier league this transfer window.

Yet only little Bournemouth took any interest in the new Ronaldo from S2? Funny old game.
