Ladies and Gentlemen,
For all those who have witnessed todays game - welcome to the future of Sheffield United FC
We were playing against a team that cannot compete against the Blades financially as they have only a 15,000 capacity stadium and a very small catchment area. They were playing non league football a few years ago and were ecstatic when we loaned them a player who was and is deemed not good enough for the Blades and to them is a star!. Added to that they were missing their best player Stock and were depleted by injuries.
Yet we did not have the guile or intellegence to break them down and relied on a brave header by Cresswell (something I didn't think I would be saying last Wednesday) to save the game Yes we did dominate, Yes we did hit the post but in fact we have got 5 points out of the last 15 Promotion Form NO Play Off form NO Yet Blackwell seems pleased and put it down to bad luck!
Get used to it guys for this is the fair that is go to be serve d up in the future Utter Garbage!

What do you mean 'welcome'..? We've been here ages, where have you been? There's not much left of the buffet so you'll have to make do...

Fiery mate, you are beginning to get a bit monotonous. I can only assume that you either a. weren't at the game, or b. you have no idea what you were looking at. You make excuses for Donny being without one player, but none for us being without five, You talk about them playing non league football, well I dont think they are the same players they had back then. Their crowd size; irrelevant. What your post seems to add up to is 'wah, wah, wah. I want it and I want it now...'. I say, stamp your little feet all you like.

For what I saw, we showed distinct signs of improvement all over. Davies had a good game, Cresswell likewise, Jordon Stewart looked an accomplished player if a bit short on match fitness, Little had a good game, Quinn likewise, Monty excellent until he went off, and Hendo continued his masterclass in being a pain in the oppositions arse. Even Evans showed an improvement in workrate.

Last year Donny came to us and passed us off the park. This season we played them off the park and only the one piece of good play for them and a lack of killer balls in the penalty area and a bit of poor luck kept us from winning by a country mile. It is falling into place for me. I saw signs that we are getting close to settling in to a pattern of play with pace and decent football. Disappointed not to get the three points, but I think Sean O'Driscolls interview told the story how lucky they feel to be going home with something...

I agree to a point it is back to mid table mediocrity.

After seeing all of the sombre and glum fizzogs leaving The Lane today, I'm glad I was in Tenerife on tuesday and did'nt have to watch the 'Fare that was being served up' then. I honestly think we have come as far as we can with KB.
Some Plank behind me today said "We can't get a new manager, there are too many 'Long-ball' players in the team, a new fella will have to change the lot of em".
I beg to differ, for any young player to be noticed by a 'Scout' surely he must have some level of skills and abilities to make him stand out from the crowd, and not just be able to kick the ball high and a long way.
I think that just about all of the ingredients are there, we just need a more qualified chef to sort the recipe out. We're being serve with 'Beans on Toast' at the minute. I want 'Fanny Cradock' not some 'Old Fanny'.

something must be wrong with skysports live table

it says we are 6 th:eek:

cresswell and hendo up front.. welcome my friends to total hoofball:mad::thumbdown:

There was not a single outstanding performance today. It was marginally better than Tuesday, but it'd be hard to be worse.

Yes, we're sixth in the table. Good job we got some points on the board early doors, cos the way we're playing recently we're not too likely to be getting many more. I wonder what people will cling to when we slide out of the playoffs?

All I hear coming from the club are excuses, all I see on the pitch are a disparate bunch of talented players who should be playing far better than they are, serving up mediocre, passionless football bereft of guile or tactical nous.

The paucity of playing staff, the tactics and formation, the lack of a plan A, let alone B, are all the fault of one man, ultimately - unfortunately he's a man with a pathological inability to take responsibility, and his boss is a man who can't look at anything without breaking it down to fiscal basics, so not a lot's going to change in the near future.

With the other teams in the top six all dropping points, it's not enough to just keep up - we need to be closing the gap now before it becomes insurmountable and we're stuck adrift in the arse end of the season. Sadly, until the management admit that there is a problem, nothing will change and we'll be left wondering why they can't see what's going wrong. Reactive changes could be too late. We need proactive changes, and the sooner the better.

Duncan, I now believe that the way forward in life is to totally forget about lifes ills, pitfalls, down spiral etc etc etc and come to see Duncan Disorderly he is the smoother of all ills life is not so bad if you see it the Duncan Way!
Sweetness and Life, no problems just opportunities*****
Get a Life Dunc! Today was crap marginally better than Tuesday but as a package Crap with a capital C.
Of course o'Driscoll sounded pleased - they were playing against a side that got to the play off final last year, added £ 3 millions value of talent up front and currently boast the best crowd attendance in South Yorkshire and they came away with a draw.
Yes we hit the bar and Sullivan made a good save from Walker at the death when he should have scored but in the first half instead of peppering their goal we peppered the BLUT I am sure Quinny saw someone up there he doesn't like!
Yes I was there , just as I am there every game and whilst McCabe is building a stadiumfor the World Cup and 44,000 fans serving crap like that will soon return us to the 15 - 20000 gates!

Beware we may be 6th but mediocrity beckons

new to the forum, however already pissed off with all the negative blades-feels like ive signed onto a forum for the snort beasts at oinksborough, ok we arnt playin the most attractive football and i do question kb's decisions at times(why rush treacy back today after jarred knee bemused me) but we played and passed the ball much much better today after tues nite and but for bad luck could and should have been 5 up at half time(davies FOUR clear headers from corners comes to mind) but lets give kb a bit of credit for once,we were poor on tuesday and he did have the bollocks to make wholesale changes and do something about it.yes we all want brilliant football and 5-0 wins but it doesnt happen, come on blades we are still in the mix and we will be at the end of the season aswell. big praise to cresswell too today, good goal and great monster tackle just after it.

Well I thought we played well today and actually looked like a side that can play football.

I travel a fair distance to watch us play and have experienced many very long journeys home after abysmal displays. Today wasn't one of them.

Mediocrity defines this division though, and has done for many years. If you think this is a 'welcome', you really must be a newbie to the club.

Again, I will say since 1976, we have spent all but ten seasons in this division. Five above, and also crucially, five below.

We may aspire to better things. We may have had some of the cruellest luck to deny us a higher placing. We may even have been on the end of some dreadful decisions which have kept us down.

I can tell you this though. As far as I'm concerned, this is no welcome to mediocrity. It's our tried and tested path.

Get used to it.

Moan and moan as much as you want. I'm a big fan of complaining. I constantly write letters of complaint to companies. Sometimes I complain about companies when I had nowt to do with them and still get vouchers.

Just don't think that we haven't endured mediocrity for bleeding decades.

I'm being a bit pedantic, I know, but since 1976 we have spent 6 seasons below this division.

I am a frustrated blades fan at the moment that has not been shouting blackwell's name and can see postives in our/his game. However, all the players need to do is use a bit of nouse... How hard is it to run at the oppositions defence??? At times yesterday quinn was so keen on a pass he ended up making hollywood balls instead of running into the acres of space that was afforded to him at times (especially in second half)... when people actually made runs we looked like we were going to score (ie. walkers run at defence, hendersons header, treacy runs at end etc) but instead the midfield players wanted to play the long ball or negatively pass the ball back to a defender...

Get a Life Dunc!

I have a life thanks, and its not one in which I either work myself into a frenzy about stuff I dont control, or criticise the shit out of people who are already doing a job better than I could possibly manage myself. I went to the Lane to enjoy the game and I did. We can do better but I saw a lot of decent things, just like I did before we started on that unbeaten run last year. We're not far off being a very good side. We're in the top six, and we will be there or thereabouts at the end.

As for Deadbat, his reports are normally good in terms of detail, but they do reflect his opinions, and are not to be taken as a statement of fact. 'Midtable mediocrity' seems to be the catchword this month.

Having said all of that, what I really dont need is people telling me that I have no right to be anything other than a miserable, short-sighted, petulant, spoiled, unrealistic, unempathetic, reactionary bastard. Present company excepted of course...
