I don't think it's personal, I just think he's been a bit of more grumpy in interviews all season tbh. So would I having to answer the same questions over and over again when I have got training and staff meetings to oversee.
TBH I have heard him before with him , and he has given sharp responses , I am not sure if the guy asks him questions in a way that he knows will wind him up , there is always an awkward atmosphere when he interviews him , I don't think there best of mates anyway.

I hear what you mean, I'd need a larger sample size to see if it's just a grumpy couple of days or an actual dislike for the interviewer.

Christie should pull the neck of his goggle jacket up to eye level, get his hood up and chin the twat.....

We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in his life at the Lane or at home. He gave good considered responses, that’s good enough, he doesn’t need to jump through hoops if he doesn’t feel like it.

He’s always friendly with Giddings (think they go back a few years to Halifax?) and was always fine with Staton. Was always a bit short with Buchan, but seemed to mellow to him towards the end.

Maybe this new blokes just an annoying twat?

Basically he gets along with the ones that have a clue.

You get to interview the manager and have a load of things to ask, the question was of no interest to us it was like he had run out of things to ask and he blurts out something like that.

I didn’t see anything wrong with Wilders answer. He just didn’t understand what the question was

I actually thought he was less grumpy in this interview than previous ones with this interviewer. He’s been a right condescending twat to him on other ones, I think it was before the derby. But then when he was on sky in the dugout with the sky man (former footballer, can’t remember his name) he was proper chilled out.

I get the impression that wilder likes to give everyone without experience a tough time, see how they react and then allow them to develop - whether this is a journalist or a player

Got to say that I love Wilder the most when he’s a proper frosty fucker

He asks CRAP questions in a CRAP accent! I mean what the hell were those questions? useless twat.

Good shout. Maybe he learnt this from Bassett?
I think it's been mentioned on here before that during that era new players in the team would get a fair bit of tough treatment from the experienced pros in training and from management. Not to the point of being malicious or bullying, but just enough to get a reaction from them either way. I suspect the desired reaction is someone who can take it on the chin and get their head down, without being a complete doormat; if on the other hand they throw a strop or give it the billy big bollocks, then it's kick up the arse time.

There was nothing wrong with the question and nothing wrong with the answer.

If it was some sort of dig at CW's methods, then the interviewer should read the response from the Irish players after the sackings of O'Neill and that forever grumpy twat, Roy Keane. Keane has something seriously wrong inside his brain.

UTB

He’s not an in house interviewer mate. Nothing wrong with the question or the response really, imo

Ahh fair enough then.

It's a question could always provoke. Depends what you want from your interviewers i suppose. Possibly how he said it didn't help and i dont think he realised how it could come across until Wilders response. The other bloke might have got another response if said differently, not sure

Dane, Mitch and Bradders dragging new signings to the ground and giving them a Sheffield "welcome" beating you mean? :)

Suppose any question could provoke if the recipient wanted it to. Thought it was fair myself, they’ll obviously have picked up new things (Freeman as a right back won’t have faced many players like Bale, for example, even if it’s only in training)
