So back in action at BDBL this afternoon with the visit of Aston Villa. They've had a good solid start but by all accounts were poor midweek. With our current form and home advantage it proves to be a good test to see where we really are...

Anyway...

Any team news? :)

Start with the same team which started v Bolton?

Leon injured?

New lads likely only to appear from the bench?

I'm anticipating a few goals in this, and could easily go either way. Hoping we continue our good run, and I'll go a 3-2 Blades win

UTB

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Freeman Norwood Fleck Stevens
Duffy
Sharp Clarke

Subs: Moore, Stearman, Lafferty, Lundstram, Woodburn, McGoldrick, Washington

That's what I both hope for and expect for us.

I'd like to see McGinn play for Villa but if him and Grealish are out that's a huge boost to our chances. Abraham and Bolasie won't be playing so that's a plus.

I fancy us to have the better of the game but whether that translates to a victory is anybody's guess.

Either way, I expect a good game.

A draw would be a good result after 3 consecutive wins.

We will concede. Of that I am sure.
We still look suspect at the back and they have the players to take advantage of that regardless whether their new players and old are unavailable or injured.

We have to take advantage of the chances we create today as we won’t be churning them out at the rate we usually do against Villa, so we have to be making any chances we make count.

Injuries aside, if the team that won last week is available then I don’t see him making any changes.
New lads on the bench, we might get a look at Washington, but don’t expect to see Johnson.

I reckon just one change from last week, McGoldrick for Leon. Tufty must have contemplated dropping/resting him anyway so the injury has given him that chance.

We're playing them at a good time, they're struggling a bit and as last week, 1st goal will be crucial with us hopefully flying out of the traps and I think 6/4 is a cracking price for us today.

If we win today don't we match last last seasons start excacly?
I remember someone saying after the early loses we won 4 in a row.

Either way its make or break for Villa. On Roy's view fans were saying that if they lost today then they wanted Bruce out. That might change slightly with their recruitment yesterday but it's fair to say their whole club is still in panic mode and an early goal again could really add extra pressure.

While we are all looking at our strikers for goals it's clear we are trying to get a lot more from midfield this year.
With Norwood pulling the strings, Fleck "having a go" more, Freeman back and Johnson waiting in the wings I can't see why we can't double the goals from last season in that department.

Listening to Steve Bruce's interview yesterday,it sounds like Grealish and Mcginn will travel and a decision made on the day...If they play, they play, but it would be a bonus if they don't make it.
If they play or not,I think we can beat them, they're defense is liable to cough up a few mistakes...I'll be surprised if Washington starts...think he'll be on the bench...2-0 United.

I'd go with Ricky 's lineup and bench, unless Leon is rested, but I actually fancy him to open his account today.

Still think it will be a score draw, 1-1 or 2-2.

come on...you can't take anything from how Villa played in midweek in a poxy cup competition with several key players missing - and even the ones that were playing couldn't be arsed.

I think it should be a good entertaining game and I think we should beat them.

Team wise...

I think McGoldrick looked fitter, faster and more threatening than Clarke when he came on at Bolton in the second half. But if Clarke is fit I'd expect him to retain his place.

Of the new lads...I think both will be on the bench...unless we've got an injury.

Same team as last week should suit, I see no reason to change if everyone is fit.

Hopefully we play well and win to go into the International break in a good mood.

1 nowt Blades. Billy on 75 minutes. Won't be pretty, but we are the form team at the moment.

Feeling positive about today, same team as last week ( goldie in for Leon if he is not fit) washington on bench. I dont think other deals were done in time for them to be involved today. I will go 2-1 united... after a tough close game. UTB!

Betfair like us at 13/10 currently and Villains 21/10 UTB and I'm going 2-1 Blades. Sharp & Egan(header from a corner)

I think if Leon’s fit he’ll play but if there’s the slightest risk of aggravating the injury he wont. After today we have a 2 week break. Sharp and McGoldrick are adequate for today with Washington as back up if he’s needed

This is game 6 and - before today - we've got nine points. Last season we had 12 points after game 6 (W,L,L,W,W,W,). Even if we win today (12 points), last season we won game 7 (Bolton away), so had 15 points from the first 7 games.

Really looking forward to this one, big game, big crowd, and a 3pm kick off.

We have a great chance but they have quality in their ranks.

Going for 2-2 draw but hope we snatch it.
