Rumours that Millwall are interested in Leonard

Apparently he played well when he came on, on Saturday.
Taken time to settle but can play a number of positions, I would keep him as we need someone with his energy and ability to put a foot in.
Although I cannot see him getting a game in central midfield when we have
Coutts, fleck, Norwood, basham and lundstram ahead of him.

Do not let him go.

It would be a huge waste to never see what he can do at RCB - or as a defensive midfielder.

He is at the very least someone who will be in the matchday squad every single time.

But if we do let him go, then FFS don't give him to Millwall. That would be brainless. Rotherham would be better.

Unless we were going to trade him for Gregory, who I do not want, but it’s not up to me.

Would be a mistake to let him go now. Looked decent when he has come on and I hoped he would continue to play a part this season.

I'd swap him for George Saville.

Came off twitter originally but i was aware they were after him when we signed him and is a natural development especially as we are after another midfield player.
Was not aware of other comments but that only confirms the rumour.
I would keep him at least until January to see how he has improved.
Definitely get our money back and in no rush to sell.

A manager is not doing his job at this time of year if he is not asking questions and exploring options

It would be a pretty damning indictment of our transfer dealings over the past 18 months if this would come off:
Unless we were to sell him at a profit and /or bring in better quality in much the same way as we have brought in Norwood who is an improvement on Evans.

Our team and it’s quality constantly evolves

He provides cover in a number of positions. Bit like the old Basham. It would be folly to let him go out on loan.

Bit of a fallacy this 'selling at a profit' to upgrade...like the guy who is happy he sold his house for 100k after buying it for 50k to trade up to a better house only to find out that the house he wants has also doubled in price to 200k !!!

We have sold Evans at a profit
We have used those funds to add to other funds to buy a better player,
The team had evolved and we have not lost money on our initial purchase
Win win

I wouldn't want Leonard to leave, I'd be more gutted if he was to leave over Holmes & Evans....I think he definitely has talent and a lot of desire and is improving game by game - he can also slot into a number of positions which is invaluable, look at Basham he probably plays more games then most of our players due to his positional flexibility.

We don’t have a natural replacement... he’ll get plenty of appearances for us to strengthen mid and protect leads.

I’d certainly keep. He can only improve with more games and time with the side.

Millwall have just loaned Ben Thompson to Portsmouth, he's a CM. Leonard going in to replace?

Kind of player we'd regret letting go.
He's obviously got something about him even though we don't seem to be able to find it

I wouldn't regret letting go of Leonard if i was holding his hand as he dangling over a precipice. He's the last of the quadrumvirate of shite that we rashly bought in the JTW, and he needs to be removed, our aspirations updated & the quality improved. The signing of Norwood has reassured me that CW still knows what he's doing & hopefully going forward is an indication of what we get get hold of it we try/loosen the purse strings.

I bet you were one of the guys begging for us to get rid of Coutts a while back.

If Leonard turns his United career around and becomes as indispensable as Paul Coutts, I'll happily come around your house and pick peanuts out of your poo with my teeth. It isn't going to happen for him at CM or RCB, best to admit our mistake and move on. :)

I'd drive him there tbh!

Yes he did ok when he came on 2nd half yesterday v Norwich. Nothing amazing, but ok. He was certainly an improvement on the young kid Woodburn, who looked exactly like a young kid in a man's world. If he's better than Brooks then I'm a monkey's Uncle! He's nowhere near Brooks standard.

Anyhow, back to Lenny - I was interested to watch his game closely. I mean, he's actually quite a big strong lad, but he doesn't boss it does he? And on several occasions yesterday he just seemed to want to do the safe thing and pass it backwards, which, at a time when you're chasing a win, isn't very inspiring. He was better than he has been though. He got into a good position from a cross and sent a header just over the bar. It was probably the best game he's had so far - but let's be honest...that's not saying much.

Have Millwall got anybody we fancy? If so maybe we could do a swop? And please don't say John Gregory - because I wouldn't want that guy anywhere near this place - he's not the standard we need as a striker. Wasn't there a centre-half we fancied from there as well? Cooper or somebody? Maybe we can use Lennie to prise him away if he's any good, because it's always handy to have a spare centre half up your sleeve. I never go anywhere without one.
