Uranium enriched cap doffing to Peter Beeby .......he's a Director dontcha know.

Yeah, a melting point isnt a bad thing is it? Just means its not ready and cooking? Seems a weird headline, intended to be more dramatic than it actually is......

I also looked on Giphy for "Melting Pot" and got this, so it must be good.....

Melting pot is a very odd choice of words.

The melting pot is a metaphor for a heterogeneous society becoming more homogeneous, the different elements "melting together" into a harmonious whole with a common culture or vice versa, for a homogeneous society becoming more heterogeneous through the influx of foreign elements with different cultural background

So The Star puts a negative headline on something they don't know is good or bad for United? And our resident Star defender says they aren't biased. The good thing is that very few Blades will actually read the crap they spout.

I seem to remember Chansiri being hailed as the great saviour when he took over at S6. I wonder when they are going to run an in depth article on his tenure at SWFC and delve into the backroom shenanigans that are going on over there. Probably after they've concluded their work on the latest win over Derby that virtually guarantees promotion and champions league football:rolleyes:

It's not a negative headline, it's implying that the Blades' future is uncertain / up in the air. But why miss a chance to slag off the Star (before reading the article, of course)?

Melting pot is a very odd choice of words.

It is, for the reason you point out. Conventionally, it’s a traditional metaphor for the blending of different influences into something new (often used, eg, in nineteenth and early twentieth century thinking about identity and culture in the US).

As such, it seems a completely daft headline for a scenario which is about one owner trying to wrestle sole control from the other (completely the opposite, in fact, of a coming together and blending of different identities or influences !).

Sheffield Star. #ManglingtheEnglishlanguageforall

To me this a nonsense article, doesnt say anything more than we didnt already suspect. Like everyone has pointed out, this could go either way yet and still has a long way to run.

Sometimes James Shield surprises me and writes good stuff, I actually think he's a decent journalist when he sticks to football. I saw a star headline on Newsnow yesterday titled "This is what Prince Abdullah's proposed takeover of Sheffield United hinges on"

James Shield reckons that "Prince Abdullah’s bid hinges upon his ability to purchase the freeholds and leaseholds of United’s property interests including the Steelphalt Academy, Copthorne Hotel and Bramall Lane itself."

It was an article based on nothing more than "the statement", no exclusive chat with the owners or someone close to the club, but just what James Shield thinks about what the Prince wants.

I think United have handled things well, stated that there are talks about the prince taking full ownership, but nothing more. Of course this isn't good enough for the likes of the Star, trying to keep themselves somehow current by speculating on what they believe to be of importance, when in reality they don't have a clue

If James Shield is not bad enough, I saw Alan Biggs, post on Twitter that we can read all about what he thinks on the "Damaging backstage drama at Bramall Lane?" From what i've read and seen of Alan Biggs he's been so wide of the mark on many occasions and even worse, changes his opinion when the flow goes against him. I saw him on his Youtube TV channel the other week interviewing Matt Prestridge, it was embarrassing at how poorly Biggs had prepared.

The star really should get a football business correspondent in if they insist on talking about the back stage melting pots and that relates to both Sheffield clubs. Pig fans must be tearing their hair out at some of the Biggs nonsense, he's rattled on for so long that they need to clear players out so they can bring new players in... no shit! But its nowhere near that easy. This is the same Biggs that lauded every piggy signing until they reached their FFP limit!

It's just a rehash of an earlier article JS did.

Biggs is an idiot.
