Quote “I think Stearman would have dealt with the danger”.

Your right.

He would.

Not once has blame been apportioned here. Merely an observation of what is most probably a lack or breakdown of simple communication.

Does the fact your quote as above confirms you see it as I do mean you are also “pinning blame” ?

UTB

I simply think when the goalkeeper rushes out and almost kicks the striker’s head off, it’s not the defender’s fault for not telling him to stay put which you allude to. If we’re playing the blame game, it can only go one place for me.

Not saying your wrong.

Bottom line is no one knows what communication between GK and CB occurred. If any at all.

But Stearman WAS in control of the situation and as such,IMHO, should have taken responsibilty.

It’s not blame.

I am fucking beside myself with Moore. Knowing full well we have a backup keeper crisis he launches headlong into the Wolves lad and gets himself sent off. Wilder had no option but to send young Jake Eastwood straight into the firing line with several very important games coming up.

If I was Wilder I'd fucking tie Moore down to the treatment table and whip him. He has let the fans and the club down. He very well could have ruined our playoff chances through his stupidity. And he needs to know that.

Dear God, please get Blackman healed up as soon as possible.

I doubt that the keeper crisis actually entered his head at that moment.,

Again, what can he do when Moore decides to charge out? It’s not Pro Evo.
Tell him, shout at him, scream the house down STAY THE FUCK AWAY.

My opinion is that there was sufficient decision making time for Moore to stop his charge forward and retreat. He wasn’t initially “committed”.

Maybe I’m wrong.

UTB

And when he doesn’t, that’s the defender’s fault?
Who is as you say “in control” of the situation ?

As such, who is the onus on to deal with the situation ?

Moore ?

Stears ?

Have you played much competitive football at any sort of level ?

Ah, that old chestnut. Simon Moore’s played a fair bit of competitive football at a decent level, so how do you square that with his poor decision yesterday?

I’ve said it as I see it.

No need for me to repeat.

We see it differently. That’s fine.

As I’ve said, maybe I’m wrong.

Yep, and this is a messageboard. Y’know, to debate. Neither Moore nor Stears were in control of the situation and if the former takes it on himself to career out of his area and almost take Jota’s head off, then that’s on him. Not any of the players around him. He committed, and he misjudged. If he heads it away, is anyone saying ‘great communication from Stearman’ or is it all ‘great goalkeeping, that’?

Your quote “I think Stearman would have dealt with the danger”. Not mine.

Different perspectives. Let’s leave it at that.

I’ll concede I could be wrong. Again !

I think it was alcoblade on another thread saying we should be looking for a better keeper over the summer something I agree with as both Moore and Blackman don't fill me with confidence. No need at all for the OP's abuse though. I would say both keepers are no more than adequate at best for this level especially as 40% of shots on target go past them.

Moore is one of the reasons we got promoted last season, he’s far from being a cunt. I’ll admit he lost his head and made an error of judgement.

He showed commitment though, cast your mind back a while, the only player showing commitment was Billy, there was a situation when Billy squared up to an opposing player and nobody backed him up.

Moore lost his head for a few seconds that's all it takes to do something silly and out of character.I hope the person who put the thread up regrets doing it as I can guarantee Moore will no doubt not sleep well tonight .
I do not accept this was out of character.
There were two away games last season when as yesterday it was said that Moore will 'have to go' by Bladesplayer comentators backed up by Keith Edwards. He got away with it both times as offside/fouls had already been given to us.
I do not accept that he was a good goalkeeper at Div 3 level let alone this, despite the comments made about him by CW.
As far as I am aware he has never been a no.1, except by mistake here.
I also listened to I think it was 3 counties at MKDons and Radio Oxford at BL who were both taking the pee out of CW for comments about Moore made before games.
They were clearly as unimpressed in Moore as I am.
He is as bad a keeper as United have had as a stated first choice. I cannot think of one as bad off hand.

And what % of the 40% are shots that few pro goalkeepers would/could save and what % of the shots are shots that most pro goalkeepers would/could save? ;)

just changing the thread a bit.. has he though?? really? he made a great save against the pigs but i've often thought some of the goals we let in are 'saveable'.. like their second yesterday

I was mainly referring to his contribution last season which led to us winning the league. He was a breath of fresh air compared to those he replaced.

We should be looking for a new number 1 in the summer but there's a limited pool to choose from, so it's difficult.

Don't know how old you are but if you've never seen a United keeper as bad then I'd guess you're still at school.

As Moore came rushing out yesterday I shouted "Nooooooooooo!" before he clattered into the Wolves player. Thought Stears could have dealt with it. It was a poor decision but far from a front bottom.

This is no place to act out your fetish fantasies!!

I can back this up - Ken's shout of "Noooooooooooooooooo!" almost burst my eardrum.
