Pigs excuses & deluded

I think people getting complacent is due to the excitement of a great opportunity to put one over on them properly. I don’t think people think we’ll definitely win and we can’t underestimate them but the odds are in our favour.

The return leg of the steel city derby is less than a week away . The unwashed tramps from south Barnsley are already saying there injuries etc will be there downfall ) sorry to say this but they had there best team out versus us at the rust bucket and were going to batter us better team etc but hey ho they underestimated us.. Same pigs are saying over Xmas blades have lost it everyone's beating them without a mention we had lost our entire midfield over Xmas and our top midfielder is out for the season. No brooks no fleck no coutts etc but hey in there eyes we had been found out by other teams ..no mention that we still in most games were outplaying teams without our top players...they really are a set of deluded arrogant cunts and eleven v eleven best players we would wipe the floor with them ..we have something they will never have ? Its called passion the underdog mentality the fighting spirit from fans to management to players . This city truly is red and white .

Just to be a 'little' fair on them. Technically they weren't at full strength against us.

Forestieri has been out all year.
Loovens, Hutchinson and Pudil were all missing too.

Don’t think there will be no complacency.
That bad run brought me/us down to earth

Don't think we should get over confident or complacent, but let's be honest, it doesn't matter if we do or not, it only matters if the players and manager do, and I don't think they will.

My real concern is that the pigs fluke the first goal, Wilder goes too gung-ho attempting to retrieve it and it costs us. But i'm not fretting too much, I'm pretty confident he'll set us up right.

Anything can happen in a Derby, but we've let them off the hook a few times over recent years, when they were there for the taking...I hope we going to kick our nerves into touch come Friday and get right behind them.
Must admit from the Wendy i know..they are getting their excuses in early...injuries;new Manager hasn't got time to turn things around before Friday;if you can't beat us now you never will etc.
Wounded animal and all that, but let's hope we finish them off while there on the ropes.

After talking to three pig mates on Friday night, I am worried about next Friday ... they were all low key about it, saying they weren't expecting much from the game. Knowing how the Sheffield derby has a habit of upsetting the apple cart, not overly confident for the return game. Much prefer it when they are in full deluded mode!.

We stand next to no chance, the current team we are putting out isn't bottom of the form table for no reason.

Stop worrying so much. Worst that can happen is we lose but so what?

We will still have had a great season and the one and only highlight of theirs would be getting one over us in their 150th anniversary season.

Meanwhile we’ll finish above them and will be in with a shout of the play-offs at least while they’ll be lucky to avoid relegation.

I'm not worried mate although I don't tend to look forward to derbies.

I just tend to agree when we look at their messageboards and how deluded many come across, or arrogant and full of It, and yet I despair how many of our fans behave exactly the same at the first opportunity.

Suppose it proves unsurprisingly football fans are the same everywhere despite what we like to tell ourselves.

Nothing like setting ourselves up for a fall is there :)

As much as we all like to pretend not, football fans are the same across the land.

A few of our lot are already showing delusions and degrees in pigonomics.

Bollocks. Not seen one Blade giving it large about the derby.
I guess you can link to loads of examples though. Or it didn't happen.

There's two obvious threads on general chat with a number of examples for starters.

I also assume you're aware that opinions and attitudes of Sheffield United fans are imparted away from this board.

A conversation with a very sensible pig fan yesterday when i was ripping the piss out of them (again)

- Their season rests on "getting something out of Fridays game"
- Their season highlight is seeing the wheels come off our season

New manager says he didn’t know there were two clubs in the city.

Not sure if he was joking or not.

You don't think he thought he was going to become our manager do you??

Imagine thinking 'Ah a chance to manage a go ahead club, with a decent academy, a ground that has kept pace, some honest players to work with, passionate fans and actually in the city..'

Instead he lands at the sty amidst the physical, financial, social and demographic desolation that is S6..... I almost feel sorry for him and his Twat Lawrenson style face muff... but I don't...

I'm confused.

There's one bloke who's getting a bit cocky on this thread, and even that came across as a bit tongue in cheek.

The majority of Wednesday fans before the game in September were very confident, and pretty much dismissed us, claiming they were superior as a team in every way.

We know how it is, we've seen us play poorer teams and struggle, we've won one of our last eight games. We could never hit the level of arrogance they did in September.

They still think at full strength they are superior in every way
Personally I think any team in this division can beat any other ,throw in the new manager and the fact he seems to be very defensive and organised and I'm not expecting much tbh

I think Wednesday go into the game as favourites, new manager syndrome, better players than we have, they will be better organised and win the tactical battle, and I fully expect the 2,000 to make more noise than the United fans

Good example is the Bolton game where many thought we'd won before the game even kicked off.

There back to their best
