I don't hate every move the club makes, i'll praise when its due, over the years i've been extremely positive when it demands.

The gripe i have is - whats the point? We've all but mathmatically blown this season... unless of course its a move to save us from relegation.

I would much rather see us use the players in the squad, the ones fighting for their contracts (as it has been described) or is it a move with a view to next year?
You've been reduced to liking every silly jibe from the forums own village idiot. It's clear you are no longer reviewing every decision on its ' merit.

Call it Cloughitis, or Lackofcloughitis, but your dummy has been out ever since he was sacked. :)

Could go either way with him but lets give him a chance first. He can't be any worse than Collins can he?

He certainly can't be any worse than Collins.

I'd put Collins on a par with the Ebola virus or the situation in Syria.

You obviously don't watch Collins during the game. Strong, steady - not spectacular but if other players emulated him and his passion for the club we'd be doing better.

Tyler Durden your comment is actually quite insulting.

I was going to do a view on this guy but it seems he has shown us where he is at. Not the lads fault really, he hasnt played since 1965

Nyron Nosworthy anyone ???

I see you posted this at 7.26pm BEFORE the game.

Well, I HAVE seen him play tonight..........

Very astute posting btw.

Baptiste is an awkward a footballer as there can ever be.

Oh dear.

Don't need to be told "give him a few games" - sorry, IMHO It's obvious.

So it's Clinton that signed today ? ;)

For the record, unlike yourself, i tend to read the post and not look particularly at the writer and i don't believe in getting into the games of trying to shut people down and calling them a pig or whatever it was you were trying to lead on. Please don't try to put me on one side of a squabble or another because its not what I post here for, I made several comments on a few threads because it seemed yourself and others were trying to shut down and get another poster banned.

But yes, the Clough sacking was a big turning point for the Club. I said at the time that if you sack a manager, it needs to be with sound judgment and the person replacing him needs to be an improvement. I post based upon the merits of what i think is right for our football club.

From what we have all seen this season, that has not happened. So again, yes, I have questioned the sanity in bringing in a Centre Half so late in the season if its only to improve his fitness. Its rare that i get into the costs, but surely this is a waste of money?

My thoughts, as i have said, are that with very little hope of automatic promotion, what is the point? Its better to give the youngsters a chance if all we're doing is giving them game time. Kieron Wallace, Flynn at right back, Brayford Centre Half as examples.

Funny you should say that. 5 minutes after he came on I said to my mates “this guy looks to have a touch of the Nosworthys about him”. Not because he did anything particularly wrong. More that he just looked very awkward. All limbs and like he had his boots on the wrong feet.

I think it was meant to be. I’ve certainly never heard comparisons to ebola or Syria used as a compliment. I suspect it was also somewhat tongue in cheek and I found it quite amusing.

What you've got to question is how the club can sanction this deal when all they're capable of seeing in a player is age, status, history and cost. Happy to sign a 30 year old broken leg returnee but unwilling to spend any money whatsoever on younger players. It's like one of the football illiterates has decided 'this guy's an exceptional player' - something which they aren't, or at least shouldn't be in a position to do.

You'd expect Baptiste to be good at this level, but how many times have we said that about players dropping down from higher divisions?

One thing I'd say is that it's not as hard to come back from a broken leg as it is to come back from bad ligament injuries. Having only just recovered though I really hope we're not paying a lot in wages. But regardless of his fitness level, if he was in Edgar's position for the goal I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been conceded.

Calculated gamble from Adkins on low wages, particularly if middlesborough go up. Don't be surprised if another follows.

The star have now picked up on this.

The Star understands that Adkins, whose side are 12th in the League One table, also wants to unveil a new winger before this weekend’s visit to Fleetwood Town although he refused to divulge the details of his recruitment strategy following yesterday’s game.

He must have beaten the record for how long it takes Blades fans to boo a new player! After a couple of minutes he passed the ball back to Long when he could have played it forward and there were boos. The only player I can think of who got booed earlier in his United career was Marlon King, who I think was booed when his name was read out on his debut.

I can't believe people are writing him off after one short appearance.

He's not played competitive football this season. It makes a huge difference.

I remember seeing Gary Pallister's debut for Man U. He was laughed at by the commentators and I believe scored two own goals. Pretty sure Bartley and Cahill both had poor débuts for us. Maguire got sent off in one of his first games.

Give the lad a chance ffs

Was it Baptiste who was on 5 Live on Saturday and said he'd been training with us during the summer? It was about 6.20pm and they were winding the show down; Alex (I'd only just switched on so never found out what the surname was) said it was strange to start a season without a club, that he was available to sign and that he'd been training with us during the summer but Chris Wilder preferred Stearman.
If it was him then he obviously sold himself pretty well!
