Not enough fire power here, Sharp will be hit and miss at Championship, Clarke never really cut it there, Hanson not good enough for L1, Ched is not going to be the same player, Lavery will be an excellent no.10. We need more fire power but we don't seem to be linked with anyone. My biggest concern.

point taken - and where is £10m coming from to buy this striker, if there is one that actually exists and IS available?

UTB

May as well not bother turning up this season...

Ironically, I think CF is the position we're strongest.

Contrary to the OP: Sharp will score goals, Clarke ended the season brilliantly, Hanson will cause any CBs physical problems and personally I think Lavery will be the best of the bunch...

And I've not even mentioned Chedwyn...

We don't need 10m, more 20m - been a bog roll boom in the middle east.

If your still saying that in November I will buy you many pints.

Would like to see a proven goal scorer come in. However a proven championship striker is out of our price range, and is there anyone in league one really worth buying?

I think we will sign another striker but not until late in the windiw. Probably a young PL player on loan, hopefully one with a bit of pace and a point to prove.

I am sure Chris will have targets in mind, it's worth remembering that apart from a comment weeks ago by Rodsready , nobody anywhere had us linked to Stearman, then he comes out of nowhere.

As for our curent strikers, I am fairly confident Billy will score and I think Clarke will surprise a few, not sure why just a feeling. He is a wonderful finisher.
Lavery, not sure but he has time to develop. Hanson, we know what we are getting, he will do a very specific job reasonably well and probably not much more.
Ched is the gamble, could go either way.

I actually think we'll be fine up front and we've got enough options to mix it up and keep the other team guessing.

Hanson was signed specifically to help us get out of league one, which he did. Wilder masterclass.
Don't expect to see him next season though, unless we're playing against a defence of all under 5ft 10 I will be very disappointed to see him starting

We're strong in the sense we've got plenty of options in the event players aren't scoring. However I can't confidently look at the current set and say a particular player is definitely going to get us goals. I'm reasonably confident that one of them will though.

Create chances and our strikers will score

Season tickets going back first thing in the morning, seems our manager has totally neglected the goal scoring department, that's me finished with this shower

Quality wise it's debatable how strong our strikeforce is.

I feel we need someone who can play the lone role effectively, and also someone who can beat a defender and create his own chances.

We could really do with one of Ched or Lavery coming good.

I think we'll leave it quite late into August before deciding whether to strengthen up front.

JJ Blade nailed it earlier. IF our midfield create our current strikers will fill their boots. Last I looked Wilder was busting a gut to strengthen an already potent area.
CB and GK quality back up more important.

Why would a proven championship striker come to us?

Seriously?

This striker that everyone keeps saying we need, if he's out there and say we offer 2-3million for him. Offer him good money.

Birmingham will come in quadruple his money and he will be looking for houses same day.

I'm sorry but if Sharp isn't classed as a "proven goal scorer" then I don't know who is.

I'm trying to hack the S24SU code to give you exponential likes.

I knew we had plenty of tosspot tendency fans but even so, some of this drivel takes the biscuit.

Fortunately no of the Wanker-Blades has so far suggested we sign a 'proven goal scorer" like Jordan Rhodes.

Billy and Ched will get 30 goals between them. My word is my Eurobond.

I think we'll add a young PL striker on loan - been saying it a while. More pace would be good I agree. We've a good few options but as I said before, 2 are getting on a bit., 1 is injury prone, 1 is unproven at this level and the other is a complete gamble as to whether he can recover past form.

Main question for me though is which will be the best two? We need two who can play off each other instinctively. All the best United teams have had that front pairing but it's unclear what that is at the moment?

Say it 'ain't so Joe.....

Constant repetition doesn't make it true though, does it?

We don't need some 19 year old Arsenal made of chocolate wanker on £15k per week.

Remember the trick Spurs pulled when Kyle Walker was having a storming season. 31st Jan and the bastards pulled him back to rot in their reserves.

Every day....another bollocks post by some doom mongerer.

Here's an idea.

Why not wait to see what the strikers we have are capable of if they are given the service?
We were top scorers (or one of) in the country last season under Wilder. Our philosophy of play will not change. The midfield is still good, we will create chances.

If Evans gets fully fit and stays that way, he will get goals. Sharp will put chances away if provided. Alavert will get a few and cause problems....Hansen and Clarke will be handfuls again, and Clarke has shown he can score when he's fully fit and confident.

What is it with this time of year that some folk become fucking idiots? Naughty kids who's parents didn't control them are now deemed to have ADHD rather than a lack of parenting skills being the cause...surely we can give this "condition" a name too.

We scored goals from all around the team last season, I agree with a previous post, the way we go about our game the team will score goals again, my concern will be keeping them out, last season teams missed a lot of chances because they weren't good enough this season?
