Has been back at Wolves on loan from Fulham, but it seems Wolves won't be offering him a permanent deal.

Because unlike Wolves we aren't established in the Championship yet.

So your "always injured" comment referred solely to last season? The previous 3 seasons he made 44, 45 and 34 appearances.

30 is hardly past it for centre back, even if we gave him a 3 year deal he'd still only be 32 when it expired.

We need central defenders with EEL going and Wilson being transfer listed so an experienced Championship defender like Stearman would be the type I'd like is to sign.

No, we establish ourselves by hoping that our younger players, signed from the divisions below make the step up and become bona fide championship players.

Most of our 'peers' are more wealthy than ourselves: I think you'll find we're shopping in different markets.

For the record, I'm happy with the signing.

The tweeter appears to post a link to an interview with Stearman following the signing marked sufc.co.uk at the top. No such interview is on sufc.co.uk which is what makes me thing it's fake. If not, I think he could be a good signing.

Their fans on twitter seemed a bit annoyed the club wanted to/were going to keep him at first but let's not forget where they're meant to be aiming for now. Different world to us right now.

He's got something about him cos they were buzzing when they resgined him, and Fulham spent a lot of money on him in the first place.
Good championship defender.

Not sure he would've been my number 1 choice because I'm not sure how suitable he'd be in the middle of the 3. I know RCB would be ideal for him because he used to play RB.

Above all else I'm just glad to get a decent, experienced CB across the line by this relatively early stage. It's a good start.
