Really pleased about this, an eye for a goal but for me, didn't do enough in open play to warrent a move for him. Right then, Sam Morsy! (JOKE)

I was a bit surprised when CW offered him a contract but more surprised he has turned down a 2 year contract.

that is a bit of a "shrug your shoulders" and move on, not disappointed he is not taking up the offer, down side players knew him easy to bond, but the up side is we could get a lot better player and a little more hungry, looking for an opportunity and taking it.

Not just saying this because he's turned us down but I'm not sure he's Championship quality.

Reckon league 1 regular for a team around the playoffs but personally didn't see enough to warrant a 2 year deal

As above, compiling a list of players who can play in the no 10 role, Oztumer, Maddison, Holmes, Duffy, O'Shea, I'd have to say O'Shea finishes bottom of that list.

Don't forget, we have Jose Baxter available again soon also ;)

Played his part, put a shift in whenever he was on the pitch and popped up with a few goals, the one away at Oldham was a cracking strike and got us a very important point as it turned out. Not too disappointed to see him leave though without sounding harsh, squad player at best, we need to be bringing in better quality if we are going to be really competitive next season. Fair play to the bloke, he wants first team football and that is a rarity in footballers these days happy to just sit about lining the pockets. All the best to him UTB

OShea would be a good squad player and perhaps the decision by both parties is best for both .

Wilder may well offered a low salary with a 2 year contract , knowing he may turn it down , and not be a name first on the team sheet .

If he signs for Wigan or another , all well and good .

Think it's his height that Wilder was after . Also box to box .

No complaints , and again If Wilder really wanted him , and OShea wanted to be part of the journey , he would have signed on the dotted line .

Looked good on the ball but, if he wasn't confident that he could fight his way into the team and stay there.......what does that say about his character?

That he's honest?

I'm relieved about this, especially if signing him would've meant signing no one else in that position. If that was the case I'm surprised we even offered him anything, we'd have been shooting ourselves in the foot.

It's a very important position for us and we'll need more than just Duffy, Carruthers and O'Shea as options there. Now nothing will stop us signing someone who'll start games and have more of an impact.

He'll get a good deal at Portsmouth or Wigan, and good luck to him.

The lad obviously wants to play football and good on him for that, he'll do well for Pompy. ( or wherever he end's up)

No problem with him opting to turn it down.

He clearly feels he has options elsewhere which would suit him better. That's his decision and his choice, I won't take it personally.

Means we look at other targets.

Did OK, I can see it from his point of view and it's a good point that he wants to be playing rather than picking up a wage sat on a bench.

I really like how CW is playing it right now, you're either in or you're out, no grey area.

I can't wait for next season

He contributed as I expected really. Goals and assists without really being a regular.

That cross for Billy's goal at Peterborough was possibly his biggest contribution. That win was massive.

Then he effectively got the winner at Swindon and kept us unbeaten with the equaliser at Oldham with that superb goal at a time Bolton looked like they could catch us. On top of that his goal set up the stroll away at Port Vale.

He may be honest but maybe, just maybe, it also shows that he lacks the character for proving his worth.

Not really. We'll have offered squad player wages and he knows he'd likely not get much first team football. So he wants to get more elsewhere and regular spot in a team. Wigan would represent that.

It's just business, we only value him as a squad player so will have lowballed him a bit in the offer. He's decided to move on. Has got nothing to do with character issues in fact I'm surprised we offered at all.

He filled a role for us last year and made some good contributions in the run in, best of luck to the lad.

So what did it say about TC's character when he left us for Leeds?

Jeez.

Player in his late 20s who needs to be playing regularly decides to join club who give him the impression he'll get that, rather than stay at one where the manager has likely given him an honest view that he'll be a squad player.

And for that he's got questionable character? Rather a player like that than one who's happy to sit on his arse and pick up his wages.

Good luck Jay, thanks for the contribution to a great season.

Firmly (but respectfully) disagree there. He showed very rare character in coming to us in the first place on a loan deal that left him out of contract this summer. He could have signed a new deal at chesterfield or moved on a permanent somewhere else. Showed he's brave enough to back himself.

His decision not to sign now is probably motivated by wanting to play more football, again I respect that.

Could've signed a 2 year deal and taken his wages (albeit squad player wages) for two years and stick with a bunch of lads he has probably bonded with a lot. Brave again, I'm
a lazy cunt, I'd have signed and taken up fishing or something...

Good luck to the lad. Move on, Wilder of Nazareth will have someone better lined up, he did not sound that bothered in his last interview whether O'Shea signed or not.

Fair play to him if this is down to match time or lack of next season, if it's about money then we are well rid.

He is a decent player but nothing special in my opinion. I would much rather have Holmes or Oztumer anyway, if they are gettable.

A good League one player but if he isn't confident he can make the step up to Championship level then it is best for all parties, thanks and good luck we move on and look for something better.

Jose is an Everton player.

It happens.

Decent league 1 signing and certainly had an impact on getting us to 100 points. But equally there are plenty of better available players out there who I believe will contribute more regularly in the championship.

Hopefully that will free up some wages too
