Seeing as some people can't get any more depressed, let's open this can of worms.

What is the worst time you've had being a Blade and how does that compare to the present... where some people are saying that they're imposing an exile on the Lane because of recent results?

Hopefully, it will add some perspective to the present situation... but if this season is the worst time you've had as a Blade, I'd really like your opinion why this is the worst compared to all the other shit we've had :)

This thread could run and run considering the club in question...

It could indeed be much worse and has been on too many occasions in my life as a Blade.

If I was to list them I'd be here all day.

As to today's situation....yes we all want better. Better players, better team performance and better league position.

May I ask what's new or different?

Sometimes. well nearly always, it can be difficult to support United.

Some moan, winge and repeat negative phrases until they sound boring.

Others carry on that support, not blindly, or happy clapping but support the team whoever may be wearing the shirt hoping it will make a difference.

Up The Blades!

:)

Well, I've only been to Cardiff at Home this year with Bristol at Home as my next game, so I'm not sure if my opinion may be valid but we were FAR FAR FAR FAR worse under Captain Yawn. We were putting in hopeless, wussy performances and losing to teams like Colchester and Scunthorpe.

We've lost to Birmingham and judging by what happened Norwich by sheer poor luck. Derby we were dreadful and I am still a little annoyed about the fact we sold Hulse but there is nothing I can do about that. These are teams that are better than Colchester and Scunthorpe were last year and are not exactly mugs. Oh and we've also had poor referees as is the usual with us. I think the Tonge sale has had a little bit of a knock on effect but I am sure Blackwell can boot us back into shape unlike Captain Drone.

The worst time i've had as a Blade is now !

and my first visit to BDTBL was in 1961.

Wobble gob should keep it shut............mind yer he will not be around much longer in my opinion.

Oh well at least you own up.

Aye we've been shite before the big problem now is Wobble Gob and his spin.
Read some of the other Blade message boards.. Blades are wising up to him !

He's like Tom Hark past his best !

We have heard what you think.......don't you have any other comments about the Blades?

Repeating the truth............... not a crime, is it ?

1 point from 9 and thats not spin.

The problem is, you repeat your opinions again and again and again, but refuse to back them up with substance or elaborate when people attempt to discuss them with you.

This results in thread upon thread saying exactly the same thing, which people are put off reading.

Repeating something is not a great way to get your point across elaborating on it and discussing it more in depth usually is.

To get back on topic ladies... surely this individual deserves a mention...

Great potential Chairman/women/thing!

Them were the days!

What happened to Woolhouse......the Shergar of the football world!

:D:D:D

Good evening Foxy.

1 point from 9 is relegation material is it not ?
The Blades seem to me to be getting worse !, i had my doubts about Blackie and expressed my concern last season. To me its same owd united ....cheap as chips option every time........ with or without McCabe.

As you'll see, I've already responded to this point (which has been repeated all over) in one of the other posts you've mentioned it over here - http://www.sheff-utd.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11014

If you are saying that Blackie was the cheap as chips option, who else was available at the time who could make an instant impact?

He came in and turned the season around, nobody could deny bringing him in worked.

The blades have been worse over the previous 2 games to Norwich, but like I keep saying, there were more positives on Saturday despite the ultimate outcome.

Had Danny Webber finished the 1 on 1, everybody would have been saying it was a good 3 points and we played well.... that's the fine line between success and failure.

I'd be more interested to hear as to how getting Blackie in and us having a shaky start to this season is the worst time ever to be a blade?

Foxy

Blackie got the Blades out of the shit last season........then Southampton,
long shot but the Blades could have got to the playoffs........Southampton were fighting relegation........we know who wanted 'it' more....the Blades were second best by a long way that day.

Chris Coleman ?

Given the doom and gloom about the situation Robson got us in and the "certain" relegation, wouldn't you say it was a miracle to be within touching distance of the playoffs?

I realise by now that you are someone whose nature is to concentrate on any hint of a negative, but you could hardly complain about Blackies immediate return based on the Southampton match alone?

Do you believe Chris Coleman would have had such an instant impact? one of the positives with Blackie was that he knows the club inside out and knew many of the players.

Anyway their records since that time:

Kevin Blackwell - Won 12 Lost 7 Drawn 6
Chris Coleman - Won 8 Lost 9 Drawn 7

Hardly shows a drastic difference in QUALITY wouldn't you say?

Is appointing Blackie and losing to Southampton worse than previous times (which this topic is about)? I don't think it is in the scheme of things.

Wobble gob.

Whilst I'm more than happy for you to come on here and discuss your opinions on the blades (whatever they may be), I'm getting a little tired of mine and donating members money going towards the bandwidth involved in the same couple of words being used to make up your full "opinion". If you are just going to repeat and repeat the same few words again and again in every single thread on the blades, what is the point?

Hey Foxy

Positive comment warning !

BDTBL has improved over the years.

Shame about the team ! compaired to the early 70's Blades the team now are like a pub team.

Chris Coleman was just a suggestion, you asked who was available.

Listen if you don't want me to post on here just say so.
I understand my opinion differs from the majority on here.....but it don't mean i'm wrong.

No one has a problem with anyone's opinion.

But to repeat the same phrases ad nauseam is a little boring and pointless.

:)

We all know that football has changed since the 70's, was speaking to SF earlier and who these days plays like Tony Currie?
There is also a factor of the memories always seeming better than they were :)

Chris Coleman was just a suggestion, you asked who was available.

Yep and that's my point, many wanted Coleman, but look at their respective records since the appointments were made. I also believe the fact that Blackie could walk in and knew the club was a major factor to last season.

I've said many a time you are more than welcome to post here and actively encouraged you to do so, WHATEVER your opinion is.

The problem emerges from repeating the same few words again and again and again with little else. Even brand new members have picked up on it and said that it puts them off reading.

I've not got a problem with you having a contrasting opinion in the slightest, it's the way you put it across sometimes!

Even if you think the answer to any point raised in a post is down to Kevin McCabe or things Kevin McCabe has said, posting just the words "wobble gob" in 10 different threads within the space of an hour doesn't really support your point, it just makes people ignore your posts or become annoyed by them. Surely debating with reasons and not just posting the same few words as many times as possible on every thread would be a more constructive way of presenting your point?

You are more than capable of putting your points across and backing them up with reasoning and examples, I've enjoyed debating topics with you and we sometimes come to agreements on said subjects or have a laugh about something in particular... What's wrong with that approach more often?

OK Foxy here goes......

Mr McCabe should stop the spin, he raises expectations but never delivers a comment made many time about him is 'put your money where your mouth is' and not by buying another team somewhere on earth to stregthen the portfollio but in adding QUALITY to the 1st team.
Mr McCabes investment in SUFC is more than covered by the heritable property, the freehold value of BDTBL alone would cover it. Mr McCabe doesn't provide the Blades with the £££££'s for free far from it 3% over base which is a rip off in my opinion. The Bank of Scotland will do term loans at base +1%.

This mallarky about a midfielder beggars belief, how long the Blades been looking ?

I would suggest that in the football world the majority know the Blades have no ambition and just prefer to tick along hence the problem attracting players to BDTBL.

Cheap as chips option...... the Blades way...... nowts changed in over 40 odd years even with Mr McCabe.

BB back to it all.... supporter or customer?
