Having seen both the rust buckets desso and the blades desso up close why is ours better than theirs? And I'm not even being biased! I'd have thought they'd be pretty identical to be fair.

The only thing I can think of is that they skimp on the artificial light that I think is sometimes needed as the pitches are shaded by the stands and don't always get enough sunlight in the winter months.

Like buying supermarket brand cornflakes.....look similar, similar name. But when push comes to shove they don't taste the same and are just a cheap alternative to the real deal Kelloggs!

It is. Desso didn't fit it though. I'm sure Bush is right, initially they didn't install the lighting needed. Forestfairy needed another pay rise it seems.

The pitch looks great and helps our team and the style of play. It is light years ahead of the pitches that we used to see.

I showed my daughter a motd video of a game in the late 70's and there wasn't a blade of grass in sight. Her reaction was "they can't play on that". It made Oldham's pitch look like Wembley.

I am playing in the football aid game at the Lane on May 8th and can't wait to see the positive effect the Desso has on my silky passing game!

One thing is for sure ( i sounded a bit McCabe there) it will be the best pitch i have ever played on.

Whatever the situation there, their investment in the playing surface hasn't worked as well as ours.

In the first year the sub station that supplies the electricity was unable to supply the additional required electricity for the additional lights, consequently they had to ration the lights, thus not getting the quality we have.

It certainly is a desso as they jumped the queue and got theirs before us because of our play off game. As others have mentioned maybe it's the lighting. Someone needs to tell them to put 50p int meter.

Certain posters will disagree on the basis we have won away games not playing on a Desso. That makes it a complete waste of money apparently as there is no way that a good team can play even better on a good consistent surface.
