Quality signing and has steadily improved all season. Think he can definitely step up next year if we go up.

Think Wright has been a big help on developing him. Along with basham and eel

He's been so good he is no longer underrated but a key signing and shows the difference between leadership and experience. The likes of Collins and mceverly brought experience from a higher division but no leadership or organisation hence why we're 6 seasons into this league

When we revert to a back four for certain games next season JOC will prove himself one of the best left backs in The Championship.

I thought Fleck was really the only one we had capable of playing in the Premier League, may soon have to add JOC to the list.

Fantastic signing and a player you simply cannot fault in any way whatsoever.

"When we revert to a back four for certain games next season JOC will prove himself one of the best left backs in The Championship".

Nah mate, he can fill in but he's a CB all day long.

My personal highlight of the season ;

JO'C clearing the ball off Morison by passing the ball to himself, galloping down the left side and putting in the cross which eventually landed to Freeman for the goal.

Desire + Technique perfectly combined.

Move him to LWB and bring in another CB I think our back 5 is set for the Championship.

He was awesome tonight, and just came in ahead of coutts for man of the match. We kind of lost midfield a little bit when Duffy went off though. Courthers is even worse than coutts for tackling!

Got to credit Wright again. It can't be a coincidence how much better organised we look with him in the side. O'Connel was the one who stood out though. At times looked like an old fashioned role of letting him stay free to attack every high ball, and then when he had it down at his feet he looked like a classy modern defender. All round class act tonight. Definitely my MOTM.

He has been in fine form for quite a while. He's aggressive and reads the game so well.
Great turn into space second half and a 50 yard ball that nearly got Billy in.
He is the one I would miss most. Honourable mentions for Fleck and Coutts and Basham and Keiron the goal king Freeman.
And Jake Wright and my mam.
It's great to be a Blade!.
COYRAWW!!!!

JOC MOM QED. Magnificent tonight.

Bash towards the end though, flinging himself in there with the vital blocks when it got a bit panicky. And Jake Wright, nuff said.

Proper leaders at the back now.

a mention to Hanson tonight who gave there defence a game tonight, his best game for a little while.

Have to agree, especially first half.. and without wanting to sound barmier than usual.. he defended from the front, hassling and harrying and putting pressure on their defence. A lot of running around, with purpose.

HillmortonBlade I totally agree with that comment. Thought Hanson did really well first half tonight and really put him self about and made it a hard job for their defenders. He made it a nightmare for them the first half despite both of there CB's been taller than him, fadded a bit in the second half but overall a decent performance from him.

Thought Fleck was a bit off it today, Coutts shades it over JOC for MOTM.

I agree with JOC being MOM but Wright is up there with him in my opinion. So much of what he does goes a bit unnoticed but the number of times when we were under pressure he intercepted or blocked was immense. How Oxford thought he couldn't play at this level god only knows. Egg on someone's face ...... must be that progressive future England manager they have!
:)
