It was vardys off field antics that made him stay at that level for so long. If he stayed in the area he probably wouldn't be the player he is.

look at mcfadzean. Similar case.

Oh I know, both nearly threw it all away and in the case of McFadzean he was given numerous chances here before disappearing. Vardy has an anger and ego problem and you can see it in interviews after matches when the question grates a bit. That and the issue with the tag for assault (allegedly) means that no-one was interested.

We'd be absolutely unstoppable with this kid alongside Billy.
A hat-trick yesterday away at MK.

Stuff Ched, Taylor is the future.

Bit similar to Billy in that he's 5"9 goal poacher.

Ched would be a better strike partner for Billy.

We wouldn't be able to afford Taylor anyway. Think they'd want £1.5m+.

Also, seen his stats for this season - a goal every 94 minutes. Only Josh Morris gets close to that.

Be an interesting battle for top goalscorer. I think it'll be Ched if he stays in this division.

Could still be a good partnership no matter the similarities, both good players and Billy is very good in possession.
Ched won't come close to top scorer at Chezzy in my opinion, think he'll be on his bike before long. Too good to be not getting any service in league one.

We are a 3rd world team in terms of infrastructure! Very Zimbabweistic due to the fact all the money goes into one gout ridden parasites pocket while he watches and laughs at his subjects from the roof of his ivory hotel.

Think your book of football economics needs updating. We've certainly been in the doldrums for far too long, part austerity/part cluelessness in my view, so not a good mix for a club with such passionate supporters.

Now we come to the interesting moment I think we've all been hoping for - we have, at last, a management team that seems a perfect fit for this club, and with it we have recruited a decent bunch of players who are capable of not simply competing, but of winning with a regularity that has put many of us in a head-spin of disbelief and wonder! Now is the moment when we'll see if CW is destined to continue shopping below a very limited budget (and I must add, so far it's served us well), or will the board appreciate the need to give this winning mix the resources it needs if we're to see this job through to completion?

That was before we were winning, My faith in all areas has been temporarily restored. UTB

We have a great chance this season , the best since 2012 , BUT we must strengthen in January , despite already having 27 in the squad.

We have to keep EEL.

We have to get another CB – we are playing 3 in every game , so we need more than 4 plus Basham in the squad. James Wilson has clearly not impressed CW.

There is talk of ANOTHER goalie , if Long leaves (he is never in the matchday squad).

We are still short of a midfield general / hard-man – if Fleck/Basham gets injured (or Basham has to play CB) , we are light there.

And we are far too reliant on Billy up front.

After a mixed period of form (in his play, not in his goals) , he had a storming game at Bradford.................but if he gets injured before Clarke is fit , we are threadbare up front. Our biggest risk area.

Evans has 6 months left on his contract at Chezie – surely we can nab him in January with bigger wages & a longer contract than Chesterfield can offer , especially if Clarkes injury is career-ending.

Been told were watching him but can neither confirm or deny.
Been looking decent of late according to his stats??

We seem to have been watching him for a while.

That would indicate we actually have money to spend, because he wouldn't be cheap.

Was to a guy in the boozer on the way home, I always call in for one if I've driven, the guys son works at the lane/shirecliffe, no names obviously! but he asked if I'd heard of him, I hadn't, and he told me his lad had heard he was on the "watch list"??????

Draw your own conclusions, I had to look him up, and that's why no confirm or deny.

I'd be v surprised if they get him in Jan - more likely to be an option over summer if Utd maintain current form (as may Gregory) with further funds to be released by HRH.

Has to be Bristol Rovers one surely, I'd rather have him than a 35 year old midfielder. And plus didn't Chris just say the other day he is going to target players who are of a good age, which would rule out the Northampton player.

Yeah it was and Hussey is our dead ball expert........

I don't know the Northampton side, other than O'Toole and Revell, so had to ask someone on the way out who took their free kick, that's all

I don't either, someone told me on the way home.

It was a bit of sarcasm, inferring that we have no need of a dead ball expert as we have Chris Hussey. Not very funny I grant you, but not intended as a criticism of your knowledge of league one footballing talent ;)

Class player, Local lad to where I live, Played lower league for north Leigh, then worked his way up the leagues. Definitely would improve the starting 11 a millions percent.

He scored again yesterday and with Rovers slipping down the table he just might want a change. One quality defender in and someone like Taylor and the title is ours

No mate. We're getting Hanson in a swop deal involving Leon Clarke. He'll do nicely.

I wouldn't sign Hanson, but a swap deal with Clarke would soften the blow, however Clarke being part of the deal doesn't seem to be reported anywhere so I've got my doubts.

A lot of people seem totally oblivious to how much players cost and how that compares with Utd's budget. Not just transfer fee but signing fees, agent fees, salaries etc. Those suggesting players like Taylor, Boyle and Gregory are signed whilst the club lingers in div 1 and continues to lose several £m each year are unfortunately miles away from reality.

The owners have been burnt in previous years chucking large sums at trying to buy their way out and it has failed every time so I can understand their reluctance to do so again.
