Still tons to work on, a conundrum how to resolve the Sharp / Clarke situation and players still needed in key areas, but three points and off the bottom is like getting a ten ton weight off our shoulders,

Can watch the Channel 5 football show now, not seen it this season.

Four words dominated my post match thoughts...

THANK
FUCK
FOR
THAT

That was a badly needed result for more reasons than one.

It's worrying how closely matched we always look against opponents like them but the performance was an improvement and is something to build on.

The answer is already there.

Start Sharp and keep Clarke on the bench.

Enormous relief indeed. While place lifted after equaliser. They played the first half like they had the weight of 18000 fans on their shoulder.

If we won every game 5-0 for the rest of the season, I'd still encourage you not to bother.

Bag o' shite.

Great relief as others have said. Awful again 1st half but much improved 2nd half when we started taking the game to them rather than sitting back. Oxford were poor but it was a crucial 3 points.

Makes a huge difference when your passing towards the oppositions goal and got runners. 1st half was either long or sideways

Yeah, the shackles came off to an extent, didn't they? Not perfect far from it, but there was some decent, clever football in there. And most importantly. positive, aggressive and actually playing like a home team should, a lot of the time. Fans responded.

As bad as it was in the first half even that half was the better than anything against Rochdale and Southend.

The second half was much more like it, fast aggressive AND positive no aimless lumping and equally important no side to side to side and a back and to side getting nowhere stuff.

One thing to ponder is that all the best performers today, Sharp, Done, Scougall, Freeman, Basham were not Wilder signings.

baby steps
still getting to know each other , long way to go yet , but the shoots of resurrection are pushing through

Yeah it didn't actually feel that good. Just a weight off the shoulders. I doubt this is any kind of indication that we're gonna go on a winning run, but it's a start. Gillingham next week suddenly becomes huge.

As we are all saying - relief.

We played ok, but nothing special and it was alarming how weak on the ball we were, Oxford totally bossed our boys, knocked them off the ball, not sure how we fix that.

Some much better performances though, and apart from a couple of defensive lapses, thought Freeman had a good game, wants to get forward. Basham; his only real skill is that he actually puts a foot in and tackles. Coutts; nesh as always when it is one-to-one, but technically sound I guess.

A goal from a defender! Need them all to step up.

new squad new players , cant expect telepathic passing and knowing where team mates are just yet
a bit of gelatin injected into the team , today , may see that old necessity , confidence , increase a bit

Two goals in the league and one in the cup from set pieces.

More I think than all last season

My Oxford supporting mate was at the game, he facebooked a couple of vids from BLUT. Before the game he said Oxford are strong and expected them to be challenging for a play-off place, I told him we are poor ATM and even Oxford could beat us. I was devastated when we went 0:1 down. It all come good in the end ;)

Very poor again first half and conceding first, I feared the worst but much better second half.

First time we've come from behind to win in about 17 months. That is significant.
