"With just over an hour and a half to go before the window slams shut, breaking news from Bramall Lane. Negotiations between Wigan Athletic and Sheffield United over the transfer of Sam Morsy have hit a stumbling block over the fee. Wigan are said to want a fee believed to be in the region of half a million pounds, the Blades are believed to have offered a bag of Walkers Salt & Vinegar crisps and a bottle of Panda Cola. We go over to the Car Park live to our reporter, some bellends thinking they are being fucking hilarious behind him, and Brian The Blade".
Maybe they realise they can now get more than £400k - nothing like an auction to get the price up.They accepted £400k from Scunthorpe. And clearly he's not bidding that much. I think £400k for Morsy is an absolute steal
Bit upset. Only been away a few days and it jumps from 98 to 104. Have I missed anything really interesting?
If it's true, I hope it was a realistic bid.
Maybe that was accepted as it was the only one on the table Herb. Another club now involved so all bets are off and it`s auction time.At least this confirms we're still interested, in which case a loan deal should also be a possibility, and that's what I expect to happen with him. Just think Barnsley might take him.
Haven't we already had a bid accepted by Wigan earlier in the summer? If we have then we should know what they'll accept and shouldn't mess about.
No doubt Wigan will compromise and come down a little, just hope we're willing to go up a little, based on CW's reported reluctance to go over what he/blades consider is a fair price. No club makes its "realistic" bid at the first offer. It's called negotiation. You make a daft offer. The other manager laughs, calls it derisory and tells a few lies to spice it up a bit. Your second bid is a bit bigger but inevitably rejected. By the time of the third offer, each side of the deal knows the score....
They did, from Scunny... so we halved it.I thought Wigan accepted a bid other week?

Sam who?Sam Morsy

Anyway, more importantly any ITK`ers know what the status of the fax machine is? has it been sorted to stop working just prior to the window closing yet. Wouldn`t want the club embaressing itself by having an offer get through and have to concoct a new excuse after the event.
To be honest every rumour up until this one says the opposite. As would any sensible businessman upon realising the only other competitor for the product was out of the race. Morsy would not sign for Scunthorpe but he would come to the Lane. Call it massive club; call it Paul Mitchell; call it what you like, but he would.
Did anyone else have Jim's voice in your head as you read that?
