And while we're at it

I've seen United fans do much worse in the 80's and 90's than throwing beer at each other and swear at kitchen staff

Based on what? Your criteria that making a point that opposes your own is lacking in the qualities you mention? You have no idea about either Lukey. For you, using what you call profanities is a calling card intended to intimidate. I bet you like to threaten when you're on the end of a phone line and are many miles apart from the person you're threatening.........if what you wrote wasn't so worrying I'd put it down to the mindset of an infant who had no idea what he was talking about.
apology accepted luke. If you do act like a cock at games though all Id say is its not worth it. If you get caught on camera could lose your job like them Chelsea gets in Paris.

So I behave like a cock at games and I'm a racist too ?

Well that's not very nice .

I don't buy all this 'they're young, we've all been that age'. I'm 20. I just want to go to a game of football, watch the game and go back home. These people are imbeciles and need controlling before it gets more out of hand. I shouldn't have to watch out for flying beer or people climbing on pipes, what happened to showing some respect for the place you are in? Hardly go to away games but listening to how we seem to be nowadays puts me off going. I'd rather not be associated with these plebs.

Not going to defend a lot of people going to the match who are my age. The majority of them are immature dickheads. Also, anyone who defends them can be placed into the same category. If people think how some of these kids behave is acceptable then they're probably the parents that dragged them up in the first place.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the way our away games are policed/stewarded? They just seem to let us get on with it and only want to step in if really necessary. They always seem absent in the concourse. I remember noticing at Barnsley last year when the smoke bombs were being thrown that there didn't seem to be any police or stewards actually in our stand. I know someone who does some stewarding and apparently when Millwall come they're told to forget everything they've been taught and just let them do what they want more or less. Smoke/drink in the stand etc. Maybe they're doing similar with us.

probably just does it on here to be clever. Had a pop at me already and Ive only been here 5 minutes.

I can't stand people sticking up for these morons. It's disgusting behaviour and an absolute embarrassment to the club. As many others have said, it's not "high jinks", it's a complete lack of respect for others/anything.
Why the fuck should I get beer all over me because I'm at a football match??? Move or ask them to stop? I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO - are these little cretins brought up or dragged up? It's common sense to realise that people don't want covering in beer isn't it?
I'm so sick of this "I'm alright so fuck the rest of you" attitude - it's not just football either. What on earth is wrong with people?

So I behave like a cock at games and I'm a racist too ?

I said "if you do" not that you do. Chelsea thing was about getting done on camera not that they were being racists. This is all bloody daft on here.

The club will start acting when the bills for damages start to be delivered.

It'll be fun watching those justifying the behaviour moan about not being able to get a ticket to the next away match.

Better start making the every other Saturday, a listening to the radio commentary the norm.

It is coming..........

Almost impossible to avoid if you were going to the bog and sorry, I wasn't prepared to tell 60 odd idiots not to throw it over me.
Sorry I had to laugh.

"Please don't throw the beer over me. Thank you. "

*Chants stop, concourse falls apologetically silent as Northyorksblade continues his journey to the toilet*

"Not very nice"...is that the best you can respond with? The result of this bullshit is that you suggest that anyone who's intimidated by this behaviour should respond in kind. I suppose you've not considered that not everyone is disposed towards aggression? In these circumstances reasoned discussion would probably be met with hostility from the oafs who consider it ok to act in whatever way they care to behave.

Sadly, self-discipline wouldn't enter into the minds of those who consider it ok to intimidate others. And you wonder why there are posters on here who feel that you deserve flack?

throwing beer and swearing at women is the new tough

No you don't understand. Apparently no ones getting their head kicked in so it seems it's acceptable. Or that's how it reads on here, usually from on attendees. As a regular away goer it's not a bit of fun it's a group of wankers - who oddly weren't at Millwall - bullying kids and women behind the refreshment counters. Safety in numbers and all that. There are plenty of Blades the same age who think they are a joke, lots of whom were on the 9.10 train yesterday having a good drink and looking forward to a day out without the need to behave like a chav. They aren't hookigans in the accepted sense of the word and they'd shit themselves if they met opposing fans who were.

Said before, the club sells them tickets, they should send somebody along to watch what's going on.

this is what I don't get - club could sort this if they wanted to, get peopel to send videos off their phones in and identify the little bastards and ban them.

Obviously not enough supporters are affected or concerned about the so called fans behaviour or can't be arsed to contact the club. With the amount of CCTV, restrictions on away tickets how hard can it be to identify these idiots.

Well said.
I have a daughter who's your age and along with her boyfriend (Biggeyblade) attends away games with myself. Difference is you and my daughter have been brought up with manners and to show respect

For clarification purposes, which actions are we talking about?

(A) Beer throwing
(B) Swearing
(C) Singing
(D) Dancing
(E) Abuse of refreshment staff
(F) Vandalism
(G) Drinking
(H) All of the above

Because that would consist of one or more of the above options so no need.

I don't believe you missed my point, just ignored it

If I hadnt seen something first hand though, I'd tend to shy away from passing strong opinions but this is a forum and it attracts all types....

Are you saying that throwing beer at each other (in the middle of a packed crowd, mind, which it was on the concourse) and swearing at kitchen staff is therefore OK?
no
BUT neither is walking up to someone with a child sat on their shoulders and punching them in the face because they support a different team

People looking back with teary eyes at a nostalgic period that wasn't really

If the behaviour was that bad the police would have chucked them out

If they were doing that, that's obviously out of order.

Throwing beer around and filming things on phones?

To be expected at a football match and completely harmless. Don't like it, don't go.

So, mob rule then?

And this very sad trait of voyeurism - you know, somebody in the street has an accident/gets a kicking, and dozens of twats stood round filming while some poor sod is lying there possibly dying!

I agree with you and that that period was awful

Maybe the police have a different agenda now - film it and archive it. (See my other post that mentions voyeurism.)

Or maybe they just feel they don't want to initiate a mass attack on their ranks but drink and drug-fuelled neanderthals
