Wouldn't it be useful if someone started a thread so everybody could see what everyone thinks about promotion chances...

Oh...;)

Since when did a Baggies fan give a shit about Sheffield United?

The only light and shade you guys will get this season is if they've gone back to the stripes on your shirt. Otherwise it'll be more Predictable Pulis Paralysis to look forward to.

At least you can get some decent beer and ruby in The Vine, pre or post match.

For me, I fancy us to make top six. I think Charlton and Millwall look stronger than us and we're probably in a pack with a few others after that. If Milwall lose Gregory that could open up a top 2 spot. I can see us finishing 4th or 5th and wondering if it's finally our time in the playoffs.

I think we will end up where we deserve to finish.

A novelty I know but it's the best I can do without a ball being kicked.

:)

No. We are four players short because of the crap we can't get off our books or because we have spent cash paying off the crap on our books we simply had to get rid of. Charlton have used their financial muscle wisely and clubs like Millwall have stabilised and look good. We will either get off to a shocking start and never recover or team spirit will drive us on to be in with a shout in the top third in January. What happens then will determine our future. Next question?

Annual visit baggie192 ? ;)

We'll do well to make the play-offs IMO.

Next season could be the one, but a couple of shrewd signings still to come and who knows for this season.

Squad's a bit thin.

Indeed it is:) I have a serious point though. It's rumoured the next round of Chinese Investment will target Yorkshire. Thing is you need to be at least in the Championship so the can quickly try to get teams into the prem. Hull and Leeds shouldn't be the only two. Wednesday are owned by Thais right? You've been stuck in league 1 for as long as we've been in the Premier. I don't understand why. I don't think it helps ditching a manager a year. I do hope you get promoted

And if all the clubs get bought by billionaires who want to stick money in, the money won't be an advantage. They'll all just spend stupid money on second rate players. They'll just be ten clubs all still competing for three promotion places against four or five clubs with parachute money.
They will get fucking rinsed by 'football people' like Villa have.

Is that any worst than rotting in league 1?

What's that got to do with it? If you're coming on here for a wind up, you're wasting your time with me. I'm just trying to have a sensible discussion about the wisdom of taking over a championship club in the belief that they'll just get promoted and everyone gets rich. It doesn't work like that.
