Yes, season long loans are still available but receiving clubs try to negotiate a reduction in wages and/or the loaning club sometimes tries to get a fee.
Again we should drive a hard as bargain we can get, I don't see why we should subsidise his move to Portsmouth.
Force their hand, does he want to play football or just draw wages from us and play in the U21s on the odd occasion.

I'm not sure he needs a direct replacement, Wilder will know who his utility players are. Freeman can't be considered as a specialist right back, so we just sacrifice a utility / bench man.
I know this is playing hard ball and I quite like Freeman when he puts a shift in but we have to start pushing the 7 transfer listed players out the door whilst not shoveling money we don't have down their throats..
I'm not sure we'll be able to pull it off for all players but I want us to retain as much money as we can for the players Wilder wants.
