Not really. It means that Wilder thought he was good for a L2 team, not necessarily for a L1 promotion campaign. All we know for sure is that Wilder is aware of him but I'd expect him to be aware of all decent players in L2, having just managed there.

CW decided to sign someone else over him for Northampton so hardly First choice. (Forgot player name he signed). Plus the guy was only signed as cover as a NTFC friend of mine said the new signing was just for the bench.

Only way will know is when he signs for another club.

I think that's the logic we're working with here, yes. Clearly there's lots of proof that Wilder rejected him in favour of someone else and obviously his improvement since then doesn't matter.

Just a side point on Wikipedia, which is generally a top source of info by dedicated volunteers etc. However I've occasionally tried updating stuff on United and if you think there are forum police on here try doing it on Wikipedia! Everything needs a quote to prove stuff which is totally understandable but finding articles to say stuff like "John Gannon was a really good corner taker" or anything from less known players and some nobody just deletes it and says where's your proof?! Not that I'd go on Wikipedia to write that John Gannon took good corners but you catch my drift!

I think at the time Wilder wanted centre-half cover and Tafazolli didn't fancy bench warming, so Wilder looked elsewhere.
